How is the raster performance irrelevant in highest end tier GPUs? Most people who buy these things for gaming are older simulaton fans and VR nuts as most kids can't afford them and there rasterisation performance is still the king as DLSS and motion reprojection don't work well in fast...
I'm expecting underwhelming and way overpriced generation as AMD's Radeon division has droped the ball witrh RDNA4 so there is no incentive for Ngreedia to offer gamers a relatively good value. I'd bet on 5090 being 30 to 40% faster in standard rasterization, 40 to 60% in raytracing and cost 25%...
GTX 1070 was 314 mm² GP104 die and 4070 is 294 mm² AD104 die. So identical die size, no matter what Nvidia's marketing team wants you to believe. In fact 1070's bit bus was wider than that of 4070 (256 vs 192 bit).
I got ASUS GTX 1070 for 370€, now the cheapest RTX 4070 costs 600€ and 4070S 670€ here in Germany. The only new GPU that's worth buying adjusted for inflation would be 7800XT for 525€. Prices have gone up a lot, even when adjusted for inflation and currency exchange rate, at least for us in Europe.
I'm getting tired of graphics cards in general. I've been in DIY scene since ATi Radeon & 3dfx and now I get a feeling that no other time in these years dGPU market was so out of touch with enthusiast PC costumer. I mean, at least half of PC nerds are getting priced out of it. What used to cost...
Sorry, but this is pathetic. It looks like AMD has given up on competing with Nvidia. Ngreedia is crushing Radeon with Super series and all the Radeon group can come out with marketing wise is 16 gigs of vram on a 1080p GPU? At least announce new official MSRPs for 7900XTX/XT and 7800XT...
It's basically 6800XT. It will all come down to pricing. It can be awesone if it's priced 450$ or less, meh if it's 500$ and what a joke if it costs more than 529 bucks. I have a bad feeling it will cost 549$ or even 599$ due to offering 16 gigs of vram. If so it will rot on shelves.
@W1zzard
Cudos for an honest review. I especially liked the conclusion: "A lot of people who just want to enjoy their games and feel like they are getting priced out of the PC gaming market."
Sadly very true. ATI/AMD and Ngreedia have forgotten their roots. They have decided that PC gaming has...
Hi all. I got used RTX 3090 FE and all went well until I noticed hot my room gets when using it, we're hitting +35C outside these days :ohwell:
I googled for 3090's efficiency curve graph and couldn't find any. All I could find is that miners used 1600Mhz 750mv as a mining sweetspot. Would that...
How can Apple demand $3,500 yet compromise on battery capacity? Especially as it's seperated from the VR headset so weight shoulf not be a problem. Just stupid.
