So far I'm only having this issue in Helldivers 2. RTX 4070 latest drivers, no temp issues, even purged the shader cache.
Basically everything seems to run fine but maybe 1-2 times per match (that I notice) I get these horizontal black lines pop up. Usually only for a frame or 2 at a time. It's not a major issue but I don't understand what it is and it's quite distracting sometimes. Usually only covers part of the screen, never reaches the whole way across it.
I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. I saw suggestions for another game that it might be an HBAO issue but I could only select to turn off SSAO in Helldivers 2's menu and it didn't fix the problem.
Again, no issues in intensive 3Dmark stuff, or other games, this is the first time I've noticed it anywhere.
Any help or fix suggestions, would be appreciated. There's a couple other people on reddit / steam who've noticed it, but not many.

Should be a problem with the game, and not hardware.
Maybe a patch or future drivers will fix it ?

Is it happening even with basic graphics settings ?

RIGHT! Haven't issues with my old Quadro K4000 and won't believe "they have started". Monitor is 3y old too. Connected DVI to GPU and DVI-HDMI adapter (solid) to monitor, and this adapter is rock-hard so it's heavy! However, resolution is 2K which is kinnda "big" for such an old gpu, lol. Nevertheless, on another monitor (even it's FHD only) this "adapter" stays kindda "more fixed" and "black lines" never appeared! So, in conclusion:
doubling the CABLE possible issue!

See I would've thought that too... but nothing else does it. Only Helldivers.

I haven't tried it with only basic graphics. And if I have to turn it all the way to potato just to play the game w/o the lines, there's not much point playing it.

If the lines show up in a screenshot, like posted in OP, it can't be the cable because the screenshot is taken directly from the GPU output.
I have also seen a similar post in the steam forums where this screenshot was posted. Since the black line clearly disappears behind other in-game objects it must be a game issue. Only thing you can try is fiddle with ingame or driver settings (nvidia control panel) and see if you can find a setting that causes it.

yeah I've seen that screenshot before too. Definitely something in the game rendering weirdly

Understood your point, but just a try to see if it's hardware related or software.

I did do a vsync run of 3Dmark Speed way on loop (vsync because it never runs near 60fps anyway, just to get rid of screen tearing so I can see clearly) and that pushes the card to the MAX. No issues.

yeah I've seen a couple of people mention it but no fix so far... I might have to try that FOV thing suggested in the thread.

Might wanna report it to Arrowhead directly. They're pretty good at resolving the issues.

I see you mentioned you are on the latest driver. If it's strictly an issue with Helldivers 2 it could be driver related.

I haven't played the game in a week, but I haven't had any issues that you're posting pics about with my system. I'm personally on driver 551.23. The handful of people I've read about experiencing this issue all appear to be using RTX 4xxx series cards, which I don't have (using a 3080Ti). So it could just be a driver issue with them?

Since you already are on the latest driver perhaps try one or two of previous WHQL drivers. Sometimes the latest and greatest drivers aren't always the greatest.

One thing I can say is that I do see the occasional bug (can't say I've noticed it on the bots) - usually a smaller one, like a hunter or those hunter like ones that jump, where a part of their body becomes very elongated. it's not just me that sees it when it happens, my brother says he can see it too. Maybe something similar is happening, just a graphical goof on the game engine that Arrowhead needs to resolve.

I backdated the drivers to mid March using DDU. No effect. I also had someone reporting it on a 3060ti in another forum.

I might just do that. What's the best way to contact them?

yeah, the stretching out of the bug ragdolls is very common. My mate on a 3090 gets it, I've gotten it, people are reporting it on PS5. The black line bug seems to be much rarer though. And I've seen someone reporting it on a 3060ti.

Hi, i recently bought a 4070 super from inno3d, im from brazil. (sold my soul to afford it)
I`ve been getting issues on youtube via chrome and games.
on chrome i had artifacts popping on my screen, and thought my gpu was faulty, but it is not.. theres something wrong with the decoder idk if it is from the browser or my gpu drivers, but that being said its software issue. Just disabled hardware acceleration of chrome and it stopped happening.
And on games, these black lines have been happening, but i cant remember seing on any other game beyond HELLDIVERS 2 which is the one im playing the most, then i saw your post here, and just got confirmation tha this is not my gpu, its the game. this is a relief to me.
THANK YOU FOR SUBMITTING YOUR FEEDBACK! love from brazil!
