Nexus Intros New NX-5000 R3 PSU

Nexus released a new version of its NX-5000 500W power supply. The new non-modular NX-5000 R3 offers 530W of continuous power, with newer sleeved cables. With a rated efficiency of 82 percent, the PSU qualifies for the 80 Plus Bronze rating. The 12V circuit comprises of a single 41A +12V rail, and active PFC is available. The NX-5000 R3 has a quieter 15 dBA 120 mm fan. This new PSU sells for around US $100, targeting mainstream gaming PCs.

Not a bad price for a nice psu. Nexus is really making me a believer in their products. Anyone know the OEM?

Not quite worth $100... The only real unique features here are APFC and the single +12V rail, but I don't think that justifies an added $30 over comparable 500W+ units.

Agreed, nothing about this PSU screams "worth $100", and a $100 500w power supply is definitely not targetting mainstream consumers, if that is who they were after they missed the target.

I can go and buy a 500w Modular power supply, with 80+ Certification, and AFPC for $70 from a reputable manufacturer. The only difference is instead of 1 41A 12v rail, it has 4x18A limitted to 475w total, or basically 40A spread around which ever way you prefer.
