EVGA Ready with Case and PSU, Tailor-fit for Classified SR-2

EVGA is ready with a large full-tower case and power supply that's tailor-fit for the Classified SR-2 dual-socket LGA1366 motherboard, both carrying the Classified SR-2 brand markers for easy identification. The SR-2 case is larger than XL-ATX and EATX. Its motherboard tray is as wide as EATX, while being as long as XL-ATX. It has 10 expansion slots, 7 internal 3.5"/2.5" drive bay trays, 5 larger 5.25" trays, and holes punched out in the motherboard tray at the right spots to help manage CPU coolers for both the sockets better, and help with cable-management.

On its front-panel (located on the top), apart from the usual power, reset, and basic LEDs, there is also a system diagnostic LED display which takes input directly from the motherboard's system management module. A pop-up panel holds four USB, audio, FireWire, and eSATA ports.
Next up is the Classified SR-2 PSU. Originally designed and made by Antec and a possible inclusion into the True Power Quattro series, The SR-2 PSU is a 1200W PSU, which can be tweaked manually using the controls provided to give out up to 1500W of power. At its default specifications, the SR-2 claims to have enough power to drive the Classified SR-2 system with two LGA1366 Xeon processors, and four NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 graphics cards in 4-way SLI.
The PSU has six +12V rails of 38A each (fits within recommended requirements of GTX 480). It seems to have limited modularity, with some connectors that come off wires, while most connectors come out fixed off the unit. Major connectors have REMI cores, there are enough PCI-Express connectors to drive four EVGA GTX 285 Classified (cards that have three PCI-E power inputs). EVGA did not spell out any prices or availability dates.

OMG that looks so cheap and nasty. Who uses 80mm fans in cases, let alone high end power supplies (apart from Antec bu they are crap anyway). I wouldn't disgrace my computer with that junk. Get an Obsidian and Corsair HX1000 (and I don't even like the Obsidian and I'd have it over this rubbish).

I don't think that's an 80 in the case, that's either a 38mm thick 120mm fan, or a regular 120mm fan in some sort of holder. It's too large compared to the length of the expansion slots to be an 80. That case is way wider than you think it is. Visit the source link for more pics.

Those HDD rail-mounts look really cheap. The whole set is sort of fail in my opinion, but this is EVGA's first case.

Maybe one of those high capacity Delta fans that are slightly louder than a jet?

Don't care if it's their first case, it should be above reproach. It should be Creme de la Creme. No holds barred. It should be special. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a motherboard, will you really care how much the case will cost? Where's the air flow? Where's the rad mount? Even cable management appears to be lacking. (where do you route the 24 pin power cable???):shadedshu

The case looks just like Cm's sr-2 prototype. As for the power supply? It's just an enhance psu, Same platform as the quattro.

Well even still, it looks pretty nasty and I wouldn't buy one. If I got one for free I'd most likely get rid of it. It looks cheap and nasty.

Yeah but remember when Corsair came out with the Obsidian, it was really pwnage and everyone seems to have them now because they were actually pretty good. Still I don't like them but I can see why they like them. This I think looks like EVGA told a bunch of people to make a case for $0.50 and then they badged it Classified. Well lets hope it stays Classified and nobody ever sees it again.

I'd rather have PSU from reputable company like Corsair AX1200 perhaps, EVGA should stick to making graphics cards and motherboards.
