Spire Releases Slimod 282 GPU Cooler

Introducing the Slimod 282 high-end DT Heat-pipe VGA graphics array cooler. The Slimod 282 is a powerful GPU cooler for the latest hot 130W Nvidia and ATI graphics chipset. What is *S420 tube thermal interface some thermal paste ?
Are the heatpipes left "naked" ? If so then Isn't that a waste of chips surface ? Personally Id like a closed inside a copper block solution. Id be scared that this surface will become uneven after a while.

Useless for ATI cards really, they don't have an IHS so only two of those pipes will be used.

It looks alright. As the post above me said it'll be useless for ATI cards, but I wish I knew how these companies calculated the TDP these things can handle. 130W seems awful low and it looks like it could do about as much as say a Scythe Setsugen, there or thereabouts, and that handled my 190W 5870 just fine. Arctic do the same saying half their coolers can only handle like 95W but you can put it on an i7 which is 130W.

Is this 2 or 3 slots? If it's a 3 slot cooler after mounting then it's kinda pointless b/c AC and Zalman's already got pretty good coolers out.

None of Radeon 5xxx cards are listed as compatible on their page. No GeForce 4xx either, not even GT 240.

I don't know why this made me laught but it just did. It's like 'Yeah, we have mounting gear in our cooler. I bet Arctic Cooling don't provide that sort of stuff, and if they do then we'll one up them with a warranty card'. That's just how it looks to me...

When i 1st looked at it i thought of the Scythe MUSASHI. And if it performs as well as that does would be totally kick ass.

With the Scythe MUSASHI the main let down was there was not enough heatpipes but like this one allowed more air to pass though. If it was not me having a MK-13 i get this in a flash and add bigger badder better fans to it :).

EDIT: Unlike a lot of coolers were most airflow is blocked to to the amount of fins this works the opposite were the heat pipes get hot and fins get hot fast due to being so thin but allowing more air flow though them to move the heat away.

those fins are spaced waaaaaay too far for most efficient active cooling. they're like on the accelero s1, the whole "block" is very similar to accelero
