BenQ Intros EW2420 Vertical Alignment LED Monitor

BenQ released its latest EW2420 VA monitor to the European market. The 24" LED-backlit LCD monitor makes use of vertical alignment technology to further enhance the viewing angles to 178°/178°. The panel has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a response time of 8 ms GTG, dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1; and brightness of 250 cd/m². Display connectors include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub, it packs 1.5W stereo speakers. Backed by a 3 year warranty, BenQ's EW2420 is priced around €186.

20,000,000:1 !!! Do numbers this outrageous fool anyone anymore? or just look like a pathetic attempt to out-do the next guy.

Anyways if this was a 1920x1200 monitor I'd be ordering it right now. As it is 1080... pass

Not a bad price, the Samsung VA costs double and isnt LED backlit. 1080p doesnt worry me, I'd rather have quality over real estate.

Not bad and looks good. I am wanting to move to an LED monitor myself.

At least here rob they say its the dynamic contrast ratio. A lie to be sure when in truth it should be around 1000-2500 : 1. They do this with TVs all the time. Bigger numbers must be better right? LOL.

This thing is definitely a winner, just too bad they didn't put in the extra effort and add height adjustments. :banghead:
Where will this thing actually be available? They don't list it on the USA site.

I thought the 20,000,000:1 thing was because it's LED and the colors are crazy vibrant and deep or something.
