KFA2 Launches its GeForce GTX 460 Razor Edition and WHDI Wireless Graphics Cards

If the temps are ok, the Folders should be exited about the Razor, just get a board like this for a board.

And the WHDI, I could actually find usefull, since I'm not allowed to draw cables across floors or doorways to the living room PC. Movies and such would be nice.

to fold 6 cards on that board you would need a stupidly expensive 6 core i7 no?

hopefully this 460 single slot is a good card i am looking at getting one for my HTPC to replace an aging 9800GT eco

$250 for the galaxy version in the USA Galaxy 60XGH6DP4BXK GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Razor ...

I'm not a folder so I'm not sure, but do you really need one core/one folding thread? Surely not, since I recall seeing big folding rigs with dual or quad cores? I mean something like 3x295 or similiar.

I'm still trying to figure out how do you connect a WHDI to a TV or monitor with only HDMI ports....

This is an awesome first step! I'm glad they used 5 antennas... how many times have we seen new tech implemented poorly in the first gen. Maybe 5 is overkill?

No. The cheapest CPU you can get for X58 is the i7 920, and that's already overkill.

Edit: at any rate, 7 GTX460s would draw too much power through the motherboard, no? And it's not like this is a deficit you can make up with a molex plugged into the motherboard either, it's going to be all of about 300W short.

I don't see why this should be the case. The CPU utilisation of a CUDA folding thread is very low - my 9800GTX+ uses about 5% of my E2220.

noobs. Five antennas must be necessary because it probably has to broadcast across multiple wifi channels to transmit the mas amount of data for UNCOMPRESSED high-def resolutions, 1080p is I think 1.2Gbps.

I'm liking the single slot 460, I can see it being popular amongst folders, 4 to a board will be plenty.

as for the wireless GTX460... useless imo. sure it has applications... but not for most users.

Sexy, I have to say, but 250 dollars is way too much when I can pick up dual slot 768 mb version for 110-140 dollars, and have just as many with some PCI-e risers, and still come out ahead by saving a couple hundred dollars, and have the same PPD.

Both are bad ass especially the WHDI card. Some of the newest tech like what Intel has with its WIDI for HD Video....KFA2 = :rockout: WIN!
