Point of View and TGT Announce GTX 580 Beast 2 Graphics Card, Claim Top Spot

Point of View and its associate TGT overclocking team announced what they claim to be the highest clocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 graphics card, the GTX 580 Beast 2. The team had, in December, announced the GTX 580 Beast, with clock speeds of 855/1710/4104 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory effective). The new Beast 2 model features "unprecedented" clock speeds of 873 MHz core, 1746 MHz CUDA cores, and 4104 MHz memory. This, is claimed by its makers to be the highest-clocked GeForce GTX 580 graphics card. The card is kept cool by a full-coverage copper water-block made by Aqua Computer. Said to be already shipping, the Point of View TGT GeForce GTX 580 Beast 2 graphics card is priced at €799.

why buy watercooling when even reference cooling seals the deal? 873 stock isn't impresive at all. i get 930 on air and ohers do even more. asus matrix, msi lighning or gigabyte soc are way better than this one

That may be, but with at those freqs you'll have the cooling fan throtelling at almost full speed when gaming. Not a pleasant audible experience. ;)

I assume that the 2 stands for - you get 2 for that price

if you change videocards very often like i do you don't consider watercooling because you'll have a hard time selling when the time comes. gtx 580 is reasonably loud even with 100% vents, so it doesn't bother me. gtx 480 was indeed another story :D

799Euro? :O I bought GTX580 479.90 + EK-FC580 nickel/acetal 89.90 + Backplate 24.95 = ~594.75Euro. And as far i know u can get EVGA hydro copper2 around 700Euro and get already pre-assembled GTX580 with EK/aquagraFX. And for OC lads there shouldn't be any problems to push it ~925MHz on core and 4200Mhz on Mem.

this would have been much better if it's grill did not take up 2 slots, single slot would be nice. like the evga

I prefer the msi method of a stock clocked gpu with a waterblock on it. Tyically ends up cheaper than buying the card and full coverage block. This method has you paying extra for their factory clock which for anyone watercooling isn't anywhere near the clock speeds you're actually run at.

800€ ???? That must be the joke of the year. Seriously, you really have to be retarded to pay for a card that is not even the fastest on the market...

An ATI 5970 you can find those day with ~460€ and this card is almost double?!?! Not to mention that 6990 is near....
Happy bankruptcy!
