Unigine Releases Heaven 2.5 Benchmarking Suite, New Professional Edition

Unigine released the latest version of Unigine Heaven, one of the industry's first DirectX 11 compliant 3D graphics benchmark applications. Version 2.5 of the software expands its feature set a little, the product is also branched into two variants: a free "basic edition" that gives most of the product's functionality to consumers, overclockers, and gamers; and a paid "professional edition", that gives data-logging and specific-functionality to aid professionals such as analysts, and reviewers, priced at US $495. The professional variant is also backed by technical support.

As far as new features go, Heaven 2.5 introduced support for new DirectX 11 features such as indirect occlusion (SSDO) to simulate real-time global illumination, improved hardware support, improved quality of ambient occlusion, and a number of stability improvements that help maintain long sessions of benchmarking. It also added a new help file, and a snappier installer. The professional edition includes command line automation support, data-logging in CSV format, stress-testing, a commercial use license, and technical support. The professional edition can be purchased from here.

$495 for some auto logged numbers and fancy graph? lol. And I doubt if their technical support would be more technical than the reviewer himself

2DividedbyZero
2DividedbyZeroapart from looking exactly the same (to me) a few differences in scores

2.5 had a lot lower min FPS, and higher max FPS resulting in a higher overall score.

both test run at the same system config (currently GPU's 875/1225 and CPU 4.33GHz)

2.1 Scored 2717

2.5 Scored 2817 = 3.7% faster (for me)

$500 wouldn't be too bad for websites that have to test loads of hardware like tomshardware or Anandtech where time is money and this could speed it up.

Thx for teh nfo btarunr...

About teh lower scores/FPS drops (I´m not surprised @ all).
I beleive it is most likely due to teh new feat. SSDO (that we will benefit from when NV/AMD updates their drivers to take advantage of teh new feat. & as most filters have a tendency to have more or less impact on your performance/FPS, as y´all surely already new about/or not;))
But anyhow I´m only guessing here so if any1 else have more definitive answer/s, then speak up!

DL Now/Testing laterz...

+1 on that, but I´m doing a switcharoo here & types "and a very expensive lawyer." instead:D (It doesn´t work exactly ofc. with our legal system here in Sweden like yours but same shiet only different)

Well lets stick to teh topic instead alright? (no I am NOT trying to moderate the thread @ all even if what I just typed points @ it ;))

OT: @ some1 who had tried teh new Heaven 2.5, Are there any other noticable "abnomalies" than performance issues/FPS drops + other than stated by btarunr & also does it l00k teh same or is it any sweeter/cooler w. SSDO? (I want to know what to l00k for when I run teh 2.5 beforehand, with respect for other system factors t00 if thats OK?)

Dude lower your settings/filters as your FPS seems to be too low in teh lower spectrum (mainly in teh minimum area/ v.s fine in teh maximum) pushing your system beyond it´s capabilities (it happened to me when I tried too high settings with my older Athlon II X3 CPU). Also microstuttering appeared @ exactly teh same places until I lowered my ramped up settings (Heaven 2.1).

Just an advice to try for ya.

p.s I didnt notice your post earlier, so alas a late reply.

The new version just looks better...it's really of little use just as the original was. Purely just eye candy and maybe useful for comparison if everyone ran the same settings/resolution.

You already contributed with your findings, hopefully me/others will follow your example so thumbs up for u man!:rockout:
