HIS prided itself is being the world's first with a Radeon HD 6570 graphics card with 2 GB of memory. The GPU addresses the 2 GB of memory over a 128-bit DDR3 memory interface, clocked at 1000 MHz, doling out 32 GB/s of bandwidth. The HD 6570 GPU features 480 stream processors, and is DirectX 11 compliant. On this card, it is clocked at 650 MHz (core), with 1000 MHz (memory). The new graphics card uses a half-height PCB and a single-slot passive heatsink, low-profile expansion brackets come bundled. Display outputs include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI 1.4a. The new card is priced at about $105.

I don't understand... What is the point of 2GB on such weak GPU? Even 1GB is overkill....

It's like saying I've got a horse with 8 legs. It can't run fast, but it has 8 legs.

Sleipner (or Sleipnir) disagrees. :p

But yeah, overkill, but they've been doing this since the dawn of graphic cards.

Sharks with lasers. It sounds cool but in reality it would disintegrate their food before they could eat it. Shark would starve.

Maybe instead of bitching about it like we always do when a card like this comes around, lets do one of those on-line petitions (www.change.org/petition) and send it to all the companies that do this.

2 reasons

1. Let them know that we know these cards are just marketing gimmicks and that it makes avid computer buyers think negatively towards their company.
2. Try to help people who know nothing about graphics cards from buying them.

And if not the petition. Here you go people instead, of making your comments here, make them on their Facebook page as I have just done.

Sorry, I won't be doing that as I simply don't agree with your position on the matter.

Sure it is a gimmick, but they make money out of it. The card itself is ridiculous, but let them have their $$ :p It is the consumers fault for buying this card

I'm not shocked that they're trying to advertise as a super-duper video card because it has 2GB of memory -- I'm wondering why it's $105... :wtf:

2GB seems excessive for a card seemingly aimed at the HTPC/ mom box crowd.

Agreed, but not sure how it will help the majority of people in the cards demographic, wouldn't make use of 1 gig of memory let alone 2.

I was getting at that it's just marketing fluff designed to attract the uninformed. You're right, it's completely useless on a card like this.
