SO should I D/L it for an over all multi game improvement over the 11.9 drivers?

Hmmm :wtf:

Without a doubt. With any software, the improvements tend to go deeper than what they list in the changelog. I've noticed that with mobo BIOSes many times, especially.

If you play Rage or BF3, yes. If you don't play those games, don't bother.

Is the improvement very noticeable over 11.10 version 1?

IMO -- Their extremely f**king late and they totally shouldnt of bothered wasting their time releasing Preview driver V2.

Open beta started on the 27th of september. not the 7/8th of October. theres only 3 days left of open beta. At this stage, who is really going to give half a toss about performance when theyve already spent the last 10 days playing the game with either 11.10 V.1, 11.8 or 11.9's?

I wouldnt bother downloading and installing as beta finishes on monday. by the time BF3 is released, AMD should have an official working driver and not one thats been rushed through QA with a V.2 to follow much later because V.1 wasnt optimised enough.

Most people i know never even bothered with the first BF3 preview drivers. Im still getting good frames running 11.8s and 11.9s so theres no need to change them

Hopefully nvidia will follow. I don't have as many problems as people with amd cards, but I do get an occasional crash when entering a new location/level and minor texture pop-ins.

It's optimized for both Rage and BF3 beta. I think it's a good thing that AMD has such prompt driver support. Much better than waiting until next month or whenever the next WHQL release is. This driver works for me for Rage and BF3 really well.

Yes, a monthly release cycle with occasional hotfix releases in the middle, what's not to like? +1 for AMD. :)

I installed it despite being mainly for BF3 and such and now I have an Hydravision and multiple desktops thing in Catalyst which I haven't in 11.9 despite installing in express mode :)

I have tried Hydragrid and it rocks, it's like a improved Windows 7 snap feature and works flawlessly.

The virtual (multiple) desktops is also wonderful :toast:

In Rage these drivers cause hard shuddering every 7 sec or so on my hardware. I am going to go back to the last set.

Edit: Nevermind, the 11-9 Drivers wont let Rage start. I guess I will have to wait to play.

worked on my rig

My Rig: i7 950, 4 cores, 8GB Ram, HD4870 crossifirex
First I run RAGE with RAGE Update1 in crossfire with AMD driver 11.9, after cinematics I got a white screen and the game did not load. After disabled crossifre and was able to play the game but textures loaded whenever I turned around (most common issue reported in all other forums) I had stuttering and low FPS even at 1024x768. I uninstalled 11.9 driver and AMD profile (profiles do not work with this Preview driver, this is also clearly stated at AMD's official site). After a clean uninstallation I downloaded this preview driver. I can now run the game in crossfire mode at 1600x1200, maxed out, all problems dissolved. This is a must download if you want to run RAGE like butter:).
