I wonder if they'll send me one..I hope so, but I am not so sure about Gigabyte anymore.
As far as dimm oc, yeah my dims will do 2200+ and they are rated for 1066, I guess I can see your point but it would have been nice to see 8dimms on the ud7 too.
You can use just two DIMMs, if ya want, of course. I haven't tested myself, but based on what manuals say, you can use 1, 2, 3, or 4 DIMMS without problems, so seemingly, you can run single, dual, triple, or quad channel, which is why I said what I did.
You can verifiy this by going to any board OEM website and checking the manuals for yourself. I've already done this, as being a board reviewer, manuals are a good source of information for me as I do not have direct contact with AMD or Intel to get help on questions like this.
I do have board and memory samples onhand, but no CPU yet. I should be getting a CPU as soon as I can get all the cash together to buy a retail chip. The sooner the better of course, and I will definitely be checking into memory functionality as I wil be doing memory reviews as well.
I am really hoping Gigabyte will send me the UD7 and UD5 boards so I can check into how having the extra slots affects things!
