Loyal PC Call of Duty Gamers: No CoD Elite For You?

Just over a week ago, we brought you frustrating news that the brand new Call of Duty Elite social network was going to be delayed for the PC, once again leaving the PC gaming crowd feeling like second class citizens compared to their console counterparts. Now, in a bitter blow, it appears that the Elite service may shut out loyal PC gamers altogether. Plus, as is typical of big companies, the message was delivered in the most terse and disrespectful way possible, via a short Twitter tweet:
@thejuggz We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.
So, that's it then, PC gamers may never get it and there's no explanation why. One can only surmise that it's due to the alleged "security issues" previously alluded to. Therefore, hopefuls will just have to wait on tenterhooks for an undefined period of time. So, the biggest sales launch in history isn't enough to convince the company to support the PC platform? It looks like detractors of the Call of Duty franchise have a very legitimate axe to grind this time, doesn't it? Probably the best way to view this unfortunate news is that the benefits weren't worth it anyway.

Could that be because PC gamers are smart enough not to waste money on junk like that? We've had too much of the free DLC from Valve and others.

Still think this is insane that they want you to subscribe to a FPS. Social networking? LMAO, you play to kill people! Everytime I've played, or seen a friend play CoD online, most of the players are ones I would consider sub human. Ones that think their voice is their virtual wee wee because they have a mic. People want to make friends with that?

I think the article needs to rewritten from a neutral perspective.

Just to meet good practices in reporting.

BTW why pay to play cod when you can play BF3 for FREE!?!!

Also whats with that ugly ass MW3 Elite logo? Is that official?

I could not but wonder about the use of "loyal" in the title and text body. Why call PC users "loyal"?
Loyal?

This is expected. And since we know they are already working on MW4 it's assumed they are hashing out a method to offer it via it's online system that would incorporate it the way they want to do it.

modern warfare mp is bad anyway. The only decent one was the original modern warfare...even that was too geared so n00bs could easily get kills.

The days of decent FPS like UT Quake and CS 1.6 are all but gone.

I gotta quote this because I feel it's true..
Well. The 360 was down for 2 days and they got a free month.
Lets say the elite launches Dec. 8th. Thats 30 days. Do we PC users get our 15 months of free elite?

No? How about a reduction in price since we arnt getting a full game AS PROMISED on the box.
No? Well. What do we get? Oh thats right. Nothing. Your stupid game was pirated 2 weeks before launch on the 360 and you blamed PC users who didnt even have the full game piratable. Then it came out for ps3 while the PC STILL didnt have a piratable version and STILL you blamed the pc.

And now, when you hold back content, get more profit from the pc sales than the consoles and still you treat us as a second hand console.

If PC gamers will not buy the games they will shoot themself in the foot, IW will cut the development for this platform

MW1 will always remain the best for me

I mean yea, in general it was shit but once you get to the likes of PAM4 or Promod... it was just a whole other level of competitive FPS

i dont casre about elite or mw3 for that matter, i may own it eventually. What i really wish though is that they made a COD cross platform then I would buy it gladly for the sole reason to rape some console players shit. then after a 22/2 KD ask him why he is so slow.

So going by your logic, we should blindly give Mr Bobby K our hard earned $$$, no questions asked?

I understand your point, but with a COD game, especially with the last ones which seem like endless rehashed hollywood blockbusters, I'll gladly pass.

We can only hope that does happen. The COD franchise stopped innovating years ago, thats fine on consoles who are limited, but as PC's have grown in power, the game has remained the same. Activision has made Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero, do you notice the trend? If not Tony Hawk (14 Games in 11 years), Guitar Hero (11 Games in 5 years), COD (8 Games in 8 years). Activisions trend of running IPs into the ground and leaving them milked and dried is tried and true, and they will keep rehashing until sales drop, so by all means, keep supporting it, because I won't.

I say who cares. The last CoD game that was worth anything was CoD4. By releasing a new game every year and keeping old shitty graphics without destructible environments, they are killing the franchise. Ill stick with BF3.

I must have put more then 1000hrs into CoD:United Offensive. I was in total love with that game and i cried when i was dragged off it my a friend to go play BF2.

Some games you wish could last forever you know?

Now about this MW3 Elite Malarky.

I did say in a previous post that i wouldnt be suprised if they never release it for PC - and here we are... suprise suprise.

Even though they are saying they are trying to make it work. I wouldnt hold my breath.

Its not as if they will go hungry or have to remorgage their 2 million dollar mansions because they couldnt con a small percentage of the market - aka the 'PC gamers' to buy into their CoD Elite scheme.

if this had been a few years back with Mw1, Id go away feeling really butthurt and shafted about it. but I just really dont care tbh. I dont see any CoD titles as worth buying unless its the older ones like CoD1, 2, MW or W@W

So how do you play BF3 for free? I don't think you mean pirated, either. Both games have free multiplayer modes, so what do you mean?

Yes, that fugly logo is real. I couldn't believe it either. :p

And to all those that wonder why I used the word "loyal". It's not hard to see. I'm talking about those masses of PC gamers that have bought every iteration of the game going and in particular, did their bit for the $400M Activision made in sales on MW3. Those loyal customers. Way to go Activision. :slap:

FYI - Most of the shops around london. probably only had about 30-40 copies of the PC game to sell at the most.

The rest of the shelf was for PS3&360 versions.

In fact when Me and a friend queued for the midnight release of MW2, me and my friend were probably the only 2 guys in the queue that walked out of the shop with a PC copy.

they only had 1 shelf for the PC copies. the entire shop was for console lol. I would think its gotten worse since then

@Freedom

Sure, but it's still a lot of players overall and they have contributed to those fat profits.

Anyway, take a look at the front page, as there's an update...

Albeit mainly from console players

Dont get me wrong. There are a lot of PC players that might have purchased the game. but i dont think it takes up such a big share of the sales as you think.

Good practices, best practices; tomato / tomAHto. Either way the post still reads biased. (But, I am no English major, nor MW3 fan... what do I know. :wtf: )

As for BF3, I meant that you get the social gamer stuff for free.
