GIGABYTE Claims World No. 1 Spot for Motherboard Durability

GIGABYTE TECHNOLGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced their upcoming 7 series motherboards will boast GIGABYTE's industry leading Ultra Durable 4 technology, helping to safe-guard GIGABYTE motherboards from common everyday threats, including humidity and moisture, electro-static discharge, sudden power loss and high operating temperatures.

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 motherboards embrace a range of exclusive technologies that guarantee DIY PC builders the absolute best protection for their PC, with built-in features that prevent common malfunction threats users encounter on a day-to-day basis.

2X Copper PCB
GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 design features 2X the amount of copper of a traditional motherboard for both the Power and Ground layers which dramatically lowers system temperature by delivering a more efficient spreading of heat from critical areas of the motherboard such as the CPU power zone throughout the entire PCB. GIGABYTE's Ultra Durable 4 also lowers the PCB impedance by 50%, which helps to reduce electrical waste and further lowers component temperatures. A 2X Copper layer design also provides improved signal quality and lower EMI (Electromagnetic Interference), providing better system stability and allowing for greater margins for overclocking.

Humidity Protection

Electrostatic Protection
All GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 motherboards use high quality IC microchips that are rated with higher electro-static discharge (ESD) resistance than traditional IC implementations. GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 motherboards use ICs with up to 3 times the ESD resistance levels compared to traditional ICs. This helps to better protect the motherboard, its components and the PC in general against potential damage caused by static electricity, a common threat to today's PCs.

Power Failure Protection

High Temperature Protection

OH, I have such a headache
Funny! I never had any luck with there MB's EVER! Hell I had such bad luck with there 775 MB that I took it back 3 times and on the 4th time I got the MB I have now! But whatever.

everyone is the same, i had the same thing with Asus.

they all make their stuff in china, dont they? only different products get stamped with different brands.

Sorry, but I call bull**** I had 3 Gigabyte motherboards over the years, they all died within 3 to 5 months. :wtf:

I've been running Gigabyte almost exclusively since 2001, and I've never had a bad board from them. I've had five of them over that time period, and three are still in service. My EP45-DS4L has my crap Q8200 at 3.34ghz right now, and I'm sure if I had better ram, it would go higher. Gotta remember, every company has its duds. Just do your research, and you more then likely won't get burned.

Personally, I never had any trouble with gigabyte motherboard, the same with Asus, Well the only thing I had some strange issue bios was with Asus motherboard. My P8P67 Evo B3, 40 CPU idle in bios, Flash the bios, 30C, reflash with a new one, 22C, and now it still at this. I have a friend that sold alot of P67 chipset and had those strange temp. Anyway this is a small issue nothing big.

I really love my Asus board, maybe more tha ngigabyte now, because you can send back your stuff in Ontario for RMA, not gigabyte, which cost me like 40$ to send + Customs fees :o

Yeah right,
my z68 ud4 b3 needs a shit load of voltage to get my cpu stable @ high clocks and the ahci driver blew up my ssd-_-' i will stick @ gigabyte though, some z77 ud5/ud7 and a gtx 680 at the end of the year

GIGABYTE is one of the only makers left who actually makes their own boards in their own factories.

GIGABYTE has one factory in Taiwan in which they make their top products in, and the rest of their factories are in China for mass production.

The ASUS&ASRock conglomerate has their own factories in China as well.

MSI, Intel, and many other board makers have other board makers make their boards for them.

Only had one Giga product fail and that was a graphics card. Their boards have been solid for me. Asus was #2 on that front. They lasted good also but whenever I got one it always had some odd limitation or issues in the bios. I had one that would not go above 2.25Ghz. Made my unlocked 2500+ mobile seem a waste of money.

Did find out from this bad GPU that if you ever have to return a Giga product for RMA, be patient. Takes them a week alone, after it arrives at their office, for them to recognize they've even received it. I know cause I hand delivered it and didn't get confirmation till the end of the week.

Had gb board for nehalem and sandy both have worked a treat my nehalem ud7 board was very impressive in regard to putting up with my abuse. Haven't had a gb product fail on me yet and hope I won't.

Never had a bad experience with their boards. But then again I have only used 2 of them. I just seem to be more attracted to Asus for some reason. Any way good for them!

for me as a system builder I'm trying to avoid Gigabyte now ... swicthing to MSI better support, good quality and durability.
