First Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Trailer Released

As announced earlier this month, EA-DICE will release three new expansion DLCs for Battlefield 3, this year. The first of the three is Battlefield 3: Close Quarters. The first official trailer of this title was posted. The trailer very explicitly details what Close Quarters is all about, by showing off gameplay in a map titled "Ziba Tower", which is supposedly a tall building with a gunfight going on inside, spanning across several levels, including its cozy penthouse. To win at Close Quarters, players are expected to be extremely agile, and equipped with the right kind of firepower (such as fast SMGs and shotguns). According to the trailer, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters will arrive in June, just in time for Summer, PlayStation 3 gamers will have access to it a week in advance.

The trailer follows. Its content is ESRB-rated 17+.

People who question whether it'll be as intense as that online, the answer is Yes. However, factor in 30 RPGs constantly going off and you'll have it nailed.

Closer quarters than Metro and still 64man... Oh God...

And another new feature will be lots and lots of campers. This will be even worse than operation metro with the opposite team spamming nades and rpgs when trying get up the escalator or the stairs to the ticket hall (B).

what does this have to do with battlefield? its was sad enough how small the 64 player maps were, now we gonna cramp 64 players inside a building? might as well buy COD

Reminds me of CS_Office!

If there were no M320s, RPGs, SMAWs or any other explosive device except C4, nades and claymores this can actually turn out to be some good old fun!

Everyone forgets how small maps used to be in games before... they are still fun. You gotta have something for everyone, Karkand brought the big (which is not for me) and now this brings the small, which is a tad more fun for me since I don't have to run around expecting to be shot from 50 different directions, and can actually use some TACTICS rather than just hiding/camping or running around never knowing where the enemy is coming from (random spawn -.-). :nutkick:

1) tastes like Crysis 2 MP building map

2) if parachuting is allowed inside the building I am gonna bomb BF3 studios and never buy from them again

3) CQ combat needs peeking, and listening to the silence, not rock music and jumping...

The next map pack will have maps bigger then BF2 and 1942. DICE has already said this.

Not excited for the map size, but will be interesting with the different destruction effects. I doubt these maps will be 64 players unless the buildings are massive. I'm sure I'll get the DLC, but I doubt I will play it much.

Addicted to Bacon and StarCrunches!!!
Ok for one, I think this is a good idea for people that like to do MOUT style combat. One thing DICE needs to incorporate is server side limitations to RPG's (rocket or grenade) so that each team is not bombarded with explosions EVERYWHERE like on metro. Each team should allow a certain amount of RPG's and if that limit has been met, you cannot have one on your kit.

If it turns out to be a metro style DLC then I must say DICE has failed.

Who cares...it's just a DLC. Buy it or don't. Really doesn't affect you if this is not your style of play.

Heavy Metal was filled with bushwookies and tankcampers, only nice thing about it was 2 choppers for each side... I rather have them port Panama Canal, my favorite BC2 map =)

But I aswell expect lots of USAS/M320/RPG/SMAW noobing tbh..
I suppose its DICE's strategy (like most game developpers) to appeal to the masses by offering a bit of everything, instead making a deliberate choice (large maps and vehicle combat) which they were known for.
