Silverstone Intros Grandia GD07B and GD08B HTPC Cases with SSI CEB and E-ATX Support
Silverstone introduced two new capacious HTPC cases under its Grandia series, the GD07B and GD08B. The cases are designed to support large-area motherboards in the SSI CEB and E-ATX form-factors, apart from conventional PC motherboard form-factors such as ATX, μATX, and m-ITX. This also lends the cases ability to hold very long graphics cards (up to 13.6-inch long).
Measuring 440 x 435 x 175 mm (WxDxH), the GD07B weighs 7 kg, and is made of SECC, aluminum, and ABS. It has four exposed 5.25-inch drive bays, five 3.5-inch bays, and two 2.5-inch bays. Its ventilation features include one 120 mm fan (900 RPM @ 18 dBA) and provision for one 120 mm on the side; provision for two 80 mm fans on the rear; and two 120 mm fans (900 RPM @ 18 dBA) at the bottom. The GD08B, on the other hand, measures 440 x 175 x 435 mm (WxHxD). Its primary material is SECC/steel, with front-panel bezels made of aluminum. It packs two 5.25-inch drive bays, eight 3.5-inch bays, and two 2.5-inch bays. Ventilation is largely similar to that of the GD07B, except that on the bottom, there are three 120 mm spinners (900 RPM @ 18 dBA).
The front-panels of both cases include USB 3.0 ports with standard headers. Both cases will be released to market in mid-April. Both models are priced at 15,980 JPY (US $194), in Japan.
