Iiyama Announces the G2773HS 120 Hz Pro Gamer Display

Iiyama has today announced the launch of their new 1 ms 27" 120 Hz Gaming Screen. The use of a high quality 120 Hz screen with a 1 ms Response Time offers you an amazing gaming experience, which can achieve up to 120 frames per second through Dual Link DVI. The screen will offer crystal clear, smoother and judder free graphics during fast paced games on PCs, with beautiful quality video play back on Blue Ray Players and consoles. i looked and read a lot about led monitor(&TV) and can't decide what is the best led type monitor to chase....based on the used led type...

can anyone point or let me know based on real experience which is best...??? :)

Yes. They normally mention 3D Vision prominently in their marketing if they support it. Having said that, I managed to get 3D Vision working with an old CRT monitor at 120Hz and that certainly wasn't "certified". Ultimately, it probably just needs to be able to support 120Hz and that's it.

yes. nVidia killed CRT support recently in order to push 3D vision monitors :(

That does not surprise me at all. I have a big, ugly 3D logo plastered on the base of my monitor and I do not use or care to use 3D at all. Has this been confirmed with multiple 120hz crt's or just yours in general quibit?

Also, nice proc and mobo man! :toast: Clock that 2700k!! At least just a little bit.:p

the technology doesn't matter. I have seen CCFL achieve deeper black levels than LED. everything is on a monitor by monitor basis. once you decide whether or not you want 120hz or high resolution you want to look for a display with good black levels and uniformity. consumers look for the wrong things like luminance, contrast ratio and out of box settings.

i've seen many led monitors an tv's and sadly i have to say we're forced to buy cheap shiiit;backlight is not uniform on all area that is why i put the question...maybe someone had the luck to buy something between ....

I tried it with a couple of CRT's of mine about a year ago and it did work, but the driver was very buggy. It was a case of metaphorically standing on tiptoe and facing the right direction to make it go, lol.

Thanks about the rig, man. :toast: I've actually been running it at 4.7GHz for some time now, with all the power saving features off so it's a constant 4.7GHz. I've even hit 5GHz with no issues, but I had to ramp up the cooling and voltage further than I was comfortable and I didn't want to shorten the life of the CPU too much, so I dialled it back a bit.

I've updated the specs to show my current clock speed.

That's true. A good quality CCFL can give you better blacks than a cheap LED. Still, as long as a display is backlit, either with CCFL or LED, you can't have true blacks, unless it's local-dimming, but AFAIK you can't find a monitor of that type, only TVs. Not all local-dimming LCDs perform the same either.

1080p on 27"? Yeah, not in 2012 when a 10" iPad has far more resolution.
Also, is it missing Display Port? I got rid of DVI's cables long ago. I wonder how long it will take for DP to fully replace DVI once and for all...

Actually, it looks pretty good. My monitor is 26" and 1920x1200, which isn't that different, so will look about the same.

Backlight is not uniform though with ccfl though. One part has the color off, and one part has it correct.
