Nintendo Shows Off Ergonomic Wii U Pro Controller

For all those put off with the ergonomics of Nintendo's standard Wii U controller, the console giant is planning a new ergonomic gamepad for games that can make do with just common controls (D-pad, axes, four buttons, triggers). Called the Wii U Pro Controller, the gamepad dons a similar shape to that of the Xbox 360 controller, but with both its analog sticks located in the same row of controls. The controller appears to be designed to work both wired and wireless. More details will be released at this year's E3 event, scheduled for this week.

It's a good thing Apple doesn't make the Xbox cause if they did...

There is one thing though... I've always had a better D-pad with Nintendo controllers throughout the years. They just tend to hold up better and are more comfortable (always hated Microsoft's since the early sidewinder series).

Totally
Why'd the swap the the right analog and buttons? That's not gonna stop Microsoft from sicking their attack lawyers on them should the choose to.

I cant tell if the face buttons being on the bottom will be a problem, im going to assume that Nintendo did thoruough testing and it feels okay. Traditionally the face buttons are above the stick. It looks like a 360 controller obviously but to me i also see it as an evolution of the classic controller plus for wii.

Button placement is completely wrong. Holding the right trigger and pressing the buttons ( especially the "B" button) for a long period will cause strain on fingers.

One more to the list of many design flaws Wii U have.:banghead:

And the X-box controller is a copy of the Gamecube controller (At least button wise).

its like they took an original Xbox Controller and combined it with the exact opposite of a Playstation 2/3 controller. Terrible design.
