Biwin Launches 6 Gbps Mini SATA (mSATA) III SSDs

Biwin, an industry leader in flash storage products, today launched 6 Gbps Elite Series Mini SATA (mSATA) III SSDs in 25GB, 60 GB and 120 GB capacities that support sequential read and write speeds up to 500 MB/sec and 480 MB/sec respectively, and up to 50,000 4k random write IOPS. These Elite Series mSATA III SSDs, based on the SandForce SF-2281 SSD processor, rapidly accelerate storage performance in modern ultrabooks and small form factor industrial computers.

These drives feature state of the art AES encryption, wear leveling and ECC, and robust resistance to shock, vibration, dust and other environmental threats, making them an excellent choice for primary storage in industrial computing. Elite Series mSATA III SSDs will begin shipping in July to resellers and OEMs worldwide. The 120 GB model will retail for about $1 per Gigabyte.

Supporting Quote
"These Elite Series mSATA III SSDs are small, light and brilliantly fast. Imagine four times the speed of the fastest SATA hard drives in a 50 mm form factor that weighs less than a third of an ounce. These SSDs give stellar performance in a micro sized package." - Joe James, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Biwin America

i love these msata things, i just wish acer would put a port in an 11.6 incher, imagine, ur 120gb boot drive as the msata and a 1tb 2.5 for storage, all in your 11.6 incher, or just take out the hdd altogether for massive battery life and feather light portability
