LG Readies EA93 and EA83 Widescreen IPS LED Monitors

IPS panel major LG is readying a pair of new widescreen, high-resolution monitors for launch at IFA Berlin, the EA93 and EA83. The two incorporate LG's IPS LCD panels with LED illumination. The EA93 is a 29-inch ultra-widescreen monitor featuring a 21:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution. The 27-inch EA83, on the other hand, features a more conventional 16:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The EA93 is designed to support 4-way split screen, taking inputs from four different connectors: dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, and MHL. The EA83 supports dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI, and offers 99 percent coverage of Adobe RGB palette. The EA93 and EA83 are slated for market-launch in November.

Damn, that 29 incher looks neat. To bad it has small diagonal. I would prefer something like ~35-40 inch...Hmmm

27" @ 1440P :D now if LG can only make it feasible in price, the Catleap might have some competition

Completely Bonkers
WHERE IS THE 2880x1800 screen, in 21" format? WANT.

Damn it, Samsung, LGD, and Sharp are now making 2560x1600 in 13.3". WHY-OH-WHY do we always leave it to Apple to innovate on "displays". news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57500548-37/13-inch-retina-macbook-pro-displays-in-production/

And PLEASE nobody say the resolution is too high for text to be readable. Windows can scale text... albeitabitshit... so what is needed is a MS patch to fix quality of font rendering and compatibility at 180dpi or 210dpi fonts. Let's not be industry laggards just because windows isn't up to scratch!

I believe the most important question here is: If i put the 29" in portrait mode, will it be able to display longcat without scrolling?

point being? i will not order off of Ebay or pay for shipping 1/2 way around the world. I would prefer an LG panel with LG warranty. Not everyone is on the Catleap bandwagon my friend.

Also, most IPS panels on the market are LG made (they own the patent).

Very nice.

Hopefully they keep it up and we see a 3840x1080/1200 split input model.

Finally my dream is becoming a reality:)

ULTRA WIDE=FTW!

Hope they make a 37-40" model with more horizontal pixels. Can't wait....

It should eliminate triple monitor eyefinity setups.

I agree, I love my 47' cinema led tv from LG. I would definitely consider the 27" as a replacement monitor if the price is competitive.

What about in Canada though? shipping from the USA is still a pain in price and length of time for delivery
