Acer Announces Aspire 5600U and 7600U All-in-One PCs

Acer America today announced that it's delivering two elegant all-in-one (AIO) desktop models featuring Windows 8 to customers in the U.S. The Acer Aspire 7600U and 5600U Series were built to deliver all aspects of digital life into a stylish entertainment hub that can be enjoyed by every member of the family. Sporting an extremely slim profile of less than 1.4 inches and a clean design, these AIOs will enhance any room in the home.
Simple Floating Design
Boasting a thin and chic chassis design, these new all-in-one desktops have a modern, yet graceful appeal. Their pure form blends seamlessly with function. A semi-transparent enclosure with a simple floating design accommodates the hard drive, optical drive and screen, and perfectly matches the wireless keyboard and mouse.

The edge-to-edge frameless 27- and 23-inch screens let users enjoy Full HD imagery for movies, games and photography. Also included is a VESA mount kit that allows the systems to be hung on a wall.

"Our newest AIOs offer consumers a no-compromise solution for those wanting the power of a desktop in a sleek and elegant chassis," said Frank Chang, director of desktop product management for Acer America. "The blend of Windows 8, capacitive touch technology, instant resume functionality and fast processing deliver a superb computing experience, making it an ideal entertainment hub for college dorms or an entire household."

Advanced Touch Technology
These new systems provide the latest technology for delivering excellent performance. On select models, advanced 10-point capacitive touch technology with improved gesture recognition is smooth, accurate and highly responsive. The touch capability is enhanced ergonomically when combined with the ability to recline the display up to 80 degrees.
In addition, Acer AlwaysConnect gets users online faster than conventional connections and can awaken the system via a remote device like a smartphone. Access to all documents, music, pictures and video files is extremely fast. Acer Instant On is offered as an option. It provides instant-resume functionality in just 1.5 seconds, which makes the systems almost as quick to turn on as a traditional TV.

Powerful Entertainment Hub
With top quality audio and visual components, these systems were built to make the most of entertainment. Sporting high-brightness displays with Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, a quick 5ms response time and discrete graphics, the Aspire 7600U and 5600U deliver sharp and colorful imagery for movies, games and pictures. Acer fine-tuned speakers with Real Sound Lab's CONEQ sound technology provide virtual surround sound. To take full advantage of digital entertainment, both series feature HDMI output and HDMI input that transfer both audio and visual via just one cable, which means less clutter. HDMI input also enables connection to a gaming console.

Both models are power packed. The Acer Aspire 7600U with a 27-inch touchscreen boasts premium performance with an Intel Core i5 3210M processor (3M cache, 3.1GHz), 8GB memory, discrete NVIDIA GT 640M graphics, a combo Blu-ray drive/DVD player and two HDMI inputs. The Acer Aspire 5600U with a 23-inch screen is fast and smooth running, offering up to an Intel Core i5 3210M processor (3M cache, 3.1GHz), up to 8GB memory, a SuperMulti optical drive and one HDMI input.

Integrated multi-in-one card readers read the vast array of media available today. Large 1TB hard drives can store immense archives of personal files and applications. They also come with the convenience of both 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth wireless connectivity as well as two USB 3.0 ports. In addition, the Acer Aspire 7600U has four USB 2.0 ports and the Acer Aspire 5600U has three.

The Acer Aspire 7600U Series with a 27-inch touch display, discrete graphics, combo Blu-ray drive/DVD player and 10-point capacitive touch technology will be available in late Nov. with prices starting at $1,899. The Acer Aspire 5600U Series with a 23-inch display and SuperMulti optical drive will be available on Oct. 26 with prices beginning at $1,149 for inclusion of 10-point capacitive touch technology and $999.99 without. Both models will be available at leading retailers in the U.S. with a limited one-year warranty.

CONEQ is primarily a loudspeaker EQ technology

Real Sound Lab's CONEQ technology primarily provides loudspeaker equalization to get the most natural sound possible from the given speakers.

On top of it, for these models, there is automatic volume control and stereo enhancement.
