PowerColor Announces the PCS+ HD7870 Myst. Edition Graphics Card

TUL Corporation, a leading manufacturer of AMD graphic cards, added a new flavor into award-winning PCS+ HD7870 series: the PowerColor PCS+ HD7870 Myst. Edition. As an advanced version of PCS+ series, the latest graphics solution is introduced with evolution GPU design and solid-built "Gold Power Kit" onboard, enabling stable power efficiency even at load.

The PCS+ HD7870 Myst. Edition clocks at 925 core speed and 6.0 Gbps memory speed, by taking advantage of AMD PowerTune with boost, allowing the core frequency dynamically overclocked up to 975 MHz, maximizing the platform setting to tackle all the demanding titles. Moreover, the latest graphics equipped with 92 mm ultra large fan design, easily taking away the excessive heat from SSU-shape heat pipes fully covers the GPU, delivering the coolest entertainment experience.

This is the HD7890 in disguise since the clocks match and the memory is 6000mhz and no mention of SP's to be found.

Lol. My first thought was 'myst(ery) edition'. The two we've seen so far are very coy about mentioning the shader count, even though it's inferred. Mix it with calling it 7870 instead of it's own number...you can almost see where the marketing is going with this product.

"7870...now with a special surprise! For a limited time 7870 will include (marketing-speak alluding to) 256 *bonus* shaders for the same MSRP (that we last quoted 7870 ghz ed)!"

I bet you some flavor of that 'extra value/bonus' marketing is coming...not just 20% off MOHW, but for a limited time '20% bonus performance' on 7870.

Anyone reading this knows that it slots in with more power consumption, is much-needed competition for nvidia products at this performance level, and probably helps AMD get rid of some Tahiti chips. To Joe Blow, the *bonus value* over the msrp of 7870 (which in reality has had it's price adjusted down in most online stores) may look enticing...and let's face it...this is how Rory Read would sell a product.

Thats right people, this is the very second 7890 card after the joker card,
not only it has 1536 shaders but at that clock speed of 975 as a boost, that thing could easily match 7950's performance, hell it might even reach 670 's performance too.

There's something wrong if this doesn't come with a free copy of Myst: Masterpiece Edition.

Hell, every GPU should come with a free copy of Myst: Masterpiece Edition, but this one especially.
