Prolimatech Unveils PT14015 Fan

Prolimatech rolled out the PT14015, a 140 mm fan with a focus on achieving a good airflow-to-noise ratio. The 140 mm spinner is just 15 mm thick, features a 120 mm mount-hole spacing, and uses a 17-blade impeller. The fan is designed to give heavy CPU air-coolers maximum memory area clearance. Details such as fan-speed, airflow, and speed control method are still under the wraps.

I like the idea of this, I guess it could be used on low-profile type coolers too, to create even less height. Although, there are many other slim fans available as well.

Well there is really nothing out there for 140x15mm fans with 120mm mount. There is like 1 or 2 140x20mm fans, but no 120mm mounting.

I do like this fan idea.

Thinner (sub 25mm) fans usually have little to no static pressure. I'm not sure I would trust this on a CPU heatsink. At 15mm thick it would have to practically spin itself off its bearings in order to move enough air. On the other hand it would be awesome in the hidden upper fan mount on the CM690II Advanced. Instead of mounting inside the case, you could slide them between the case frame and the top bezel.

Seems a bit pointless announcing a fan without mention fan-speed, airflow or noise

If you read into the statement it is for memory clearance. Prolimatech is known for good speeds on their fans. It is good to see someone is addressing the issue for those who want max ram capacity.

Ummm, most good air coolers interfere with memory slots. Tower has NOTHING to do with it. lame ass coment if you ask me Doug... LOL:slap::nutkick:

I could fit a 30mm x240mm rad in the top of my case with slim fans. I wonder if it would even be worth it with these fans? I wonder if how they compare to the scythe 12mm thick fans?
