Thermalright Introduces the AXP-100 CPU Cooler

We know that cooler choice has long been a headache for ITX and HTPC system builders. Stock CPU heatsinks and coolers are hot and noisy, while high quality coolers usually either don't fit the case or interferes with your GPU. So finding the perfect balance of size, thermal performance and noise on ITX and HTPC systems has never been easy, until now!

The Thermalright AXP-100 is here! This latest creation by Thermalright is only a mere 58 mm (2.28 inches) in height including the bundled TY-100 high performance PWM fan. Besides supporting all modern CPU sockets and platforms, system and main board compatibility is also no problem for the AXP-100. AXP-100's small form factor has minimal interference with tall heatsink RAM, full length GPU cards and PCI-E slots. At the same time using a jaw dropping number of six 6 mm heatpipes, which usually only appears on mammoth tower heatsinks. The included Enhanced Fan Mount also allows power users to replace the included TY-100 100 mm high performance PWM fan, with regular aftermarket 120 mm fans or Thermalright's award winning TY-140 series of 140 mm fans. The Enhanced Fan Mount is also X/Y axis adjustable, providing the best component and PCI-E compatibility when you go XL on your fan!

Same problem as the other one. That stock fan doesnt blow anywhere near enough for a modern CPU. Its 100% Looks and 0% Function. High RPM + Loud + No Airflow = Fail.

Yeah, seriously. I don't know how anyone would say a fan that ugly is 100% looks...

And if you don't like the fan, just swap it out, since the cooler can use any 120mm fan. I can't remember the last time I used a fan that came with the heatsink. Why did Thermalright even start including fans? Anyone remember when their coolers didn't come with fans? I do, and they need to go back to that. Take $5 off the price and let me pick my own fan.

Like all cpus need a 200w dissipation capacity or like everyone oc's the hell out of their cpu's...

80% of cpu's, maybe more just need an half decent cooler...

I've had 4 cpus and 2 coolers, actually im sure my first zalman could handle my i3 just fine, it's juts that my second zalman looked a lot better, and im sure it could handle a i5, medium i7 just fine too...

and it's only a 92mm fan blowing slowly at 800rpm...

According to the arrows yes, but according to generic fan design, the "front" end pulls in and the "back" end with the details of voltages etc and where the wire comes from is where it blows.

Why should we ignore the fact that the fan succs out the hot air from the cooler ?
Since when did the direction of the airflow make the difference in cooling ?

Nonsense. I'm running overclocked Core i7 920 using TR AXP-140 with lowest RPM and works no problem. Also very silent.

Good to see Thermalright making HSFs again, hopefully better/more N/A "support" now as well :)
