ViewSonic's New 24" Smart Display Transforms PC Computing at CES
ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of visual solution products, today unveiled its innovative smart display product family, adding the 24" VSD240 to the recently launched 22" (21.5" Vis.) VSD220.
Aimed at changing the way people compute, the VSD240 integrates a 24" (23.6" Vis.) 1920x1080 Full HD LED screen with the quad-core, 1.7Ghz processer from nVIDIA and an Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" operating system, delivering a lightning fast and silky smooth computing experience."Upon receiving an overwhelmingly positive response to our VSD220 smart display, we felt it was imperative to expand our range of connected display solutions," said Jeff Volpe, president of ViewSonic Americas. "With this new product category, we are making it easy for consumers and businesses alike to embrace the post-PC transition and interact within a cloud-connected world in a brand new way, while still enjoying the Full HD capabilities, rich user interface, robust interactivity and compelling features people expect of the ViewSonic brand."
ViewSonic's smart displays provide users a PC-less web connection in an affordable format that is both self-contained and easy to use, in a range of size options to best fit their personalized space and preference. With a dual point optical touch screen and an integrated Android operating system with full Google GMS certification and access to other Android app stores, users can enjoy a tablet-like browsing experience, a touch-enabled Full HD display, and a traditional PC computer all wrapped up into one device.
With nVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor on the VSD240 and TI's smart multicore OMAP 4 processor on the VSD220, the smart display family delivers the snappy responsiveness and efficiency ideal for ensuring fast web browsing; smooth, glitch-free video viewing; graphic-rich gaming and app multitasking. For those wishing to use these monitors as a traditional PC, these smart displays are compatible with a wide variety of keyboards and mice, including USB, Bluetooth and wireless models enabling the user to further personalize their experience to fit their individual needs.
For further functionality and interactivity, ViewSonic's smart displays offer versatile connectivity options including HDMI for plugging in a notebook or tablet for an expanded screen space, as well as USB ports, SD card storage and plenty of network connection options including RJ45 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology. Paired with a built-in 1.3MP webcam with integrated microphone for videoconferencing and photo taking, and integrated SRS 3D Technology speakers, these displays are the complete multimedia package.
The 24" VSD240 will be available in North America in April for an ESP of $499. The 22" VSD220 is now available for an ESP of $399.
