Mad Catz Ships M.O.U.S.9 Wireless Mouse

Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. announced today that the Company has begun shipping the M.O.U.S.9 Wireless Mouse, a new lifestyle GameSmart mouse featuring Bluetooth Smart technology.

For platforms running Windows 8 with native Bluetooth Smart mouse support, the M.O.U.S.9 can be connected directly. The M.O.U.S.9 features a patented adjustable palm rest and uses an all new Windows and Mac compatible drag-and-drop programming interface, allowing users to intuitively program commands with speed, featuring profiles for many home and office applications such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

"Our GameSmart initiative aims to enable core gaming on smart devices, similar to the console living room or PC gaming experience. Anyone else get the distinct feeling that this is just the cyborg R.A.T. (7 series) with a new white paint job? I've got that exact model, just a classier matte black finish and what appears to be more aluminum.

I can see copying the R.A.T. I can't see copying something so blatantly, and calling it a mouse. Weak sauce as usual from Mad Catz...

Welcome to Marketing 101... change the color and name, while increasing the price.

Dont believe the hype.

yeah that's almost exactly the same thing. I stopped using my cyborg, it's good but my g700 imo is better.

I have a R.A.T. 7 as well.
It doesn't look like they just gave it a paint job, it looks like the entire thing has been cheapened.
The thumb wheel isn't a single piece of metal anymore, the adjustment tool at the bottom of the mouse seems like it's been replaced by a plastic cover, the thumb and pinkie rests don't seem adjustable anymore... In fact, the only piece of metal I can see is the skeleton.
"Let's take the R.A.T., strip out 90% of the customization, make it out of cheap white plastic, and call it the M.O.U.S." Brilliant.:banghead:

While agree there's a heavy does of marketing here, and normally don't like that bs at all, this is supposedly a "wireless gaming" mouse.

Are the RATs that it's based on wireless?

And is it chargeable or does it use batteries?

They kind of buried the important part of this product with all their product "info".

EDIT: I see it has a one year battery life. So, do you through it away after a year? ;)
