Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Edition Graphics Cards Up for Pre-order
Online retailers are beginning to take pre-orders for AMD's Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Edition bundle, which combines an R9 290X graphics card, with a Battlefield 4 Premium copy, which gives you access to not just the game, but its entire trunk of expansion packs. The bundle is sold directly by AMD, and doesn't bear any AIB partner markings. Swedish retailer Webhallen.com listed the bundle for 7,299 SEK (including all applicable taxes and shipping), which roughly converts to US $1,145. The store page also mentions that it will begin shipping the pre-orders on the 11th of October, 2013. Based on the 28 nm "Hawaii" silicon, the Radeon R9 290X features 2,816 GCN stream processors, 176 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory. It features full support for DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3, and Mantle.

I thought it is supposed to be lower than titan? Nvidia fans must be laughing now... lol
That still makes it $860...
Not to mention that this BF4 version is limited to 8000 samples, and comes with BF4 + premium membership. The BF4 + premium membership costs 140$ on Origin store fyi. Do the math and I think the vanilla version will strike at 699$ price point.
no pricing yet wtf
Wonder if this a dual BIOS thing. 800 base/900 boost on BIOS #1 and 900base/1000 boost on BIOS #2 True faith requires no pricing. Just ask the people signing up for the BF4 edition
Hawaii is as hot as a volcano right now but if this price is confirmed I think it will be an equivalent to the “cold fusion” device Spock detonates in the last Star Trek.
Zotac GTX 780 3GB GDDR5 6008 MHz Dual-DVI DisplayP...
Unless AMD release this card at a maximum of £400 I'm going to just buy a GTX 780 when the price drops.
Frankly, if we all look hard at this release, something seems very wrong.
The problem here is that you also have GTX780, you have many people expecting $600-$650 and you also have a huge gap between $300 and whatever the new price will be.
Also, you will have to pay higher price if you want to be one in the first 8000 owners. Like I pointed out above, the standard version can't be higher than 700$
A side note that 7990 is <699$ now, and AMD has a tradition to place a new flagship at the price lower than the dual card of lower flagship (just like 7970 vs 6990)
......seems about right for Amd.... considering their past launches. Huge hyper, lots of mystery and almost as good as a (fill in the blank) performance. Seriously though people..... don't expect it to be too cheap. Slightly cheaper yes....got to hand it to their marketing department though. This would work for no other vendor.
www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-015-AM&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752 Pretty bad that they're not telling the price but that will be the partners not releasing prices yet i guess. At least they're offering refunds!
Doesn't really tell us anything.
Lets see they are offering you a method to reserve your spot for the limited 8000 and if your unhappy with the pricing when its revealed they will refund your money.
How dare they!!!!
Maybe where you live you like to blindly walk in and put deposits down on stuff you know nothing about but hey, each to their own.
webhallen has just updated the R9-290X price :D
Thus the price of R9-290x still unknown and remains mystery

Prepare for the price gouging!! (Not aimed at AMD - aimed at e-tailers).
I'll not lie - frankly - on spec, I kinda want one but i need to know the grubby details like PCB construction, voltages etc.
