ASRock M8 SFF Barebone Gaming PC Goes on Sale

Announced early this month, the M8 gaming-craving barebone PC has now become available in the US. Developed by ASRock in collaboration with BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the M8 measures 372 (W) x 123 (H) x 400 (L) mm, it packs a 450 W power supply and is equipped with a Z87-M8 motherboard offering support for 4th gen Intel Core processors, up to 16 GB of RAM, and one dual-slot PCIe graphics card.

ASRock's compact barebone can house a 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch storage drive, one slim optical drive, and includes WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, a 4-in-1 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, plus HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. The M8 is priced at $549.99.

Reviewed in Hardware magazine Oct/Nov 2013 (Fr) result :

pro: nice looking, nice finishing

cons: awefull cooling, noisy, no anti vibrations elements, ODD generating huge vibration when used, assembly can be tricky,

still i like that case :D and i like ASRock and the mobo is nice (SoundCore 3D chip on it :D)

Hardware Mag has tested it with a 4770K and a Titan inside :D (almost as noisy as a Xbox360 fat)

also reported that a 5450 used for coolling efficiency test climbed to 68° quickly

waiting for more test :p

That is really pricey for a barebones gaming machine and from the looks of that board, ASrock is probably making a decent margin on it. Mostly just paying for that case is all.

That was my first thought back in teh days when announced this. But I highly doubt it. For some reason, they don't sell the case separately. May be someone on ebay will.
