EVGA Launches the SuperNOVA 850/750 G2 Power Supplies

EVGA has today formally announced two new SuperNOVA Series power supplies, the 850 G2 and 750 G2. These 850 W and 750 W units are 80 PLUS Gold certified and feature a fully modular design, a 140 mm Double Ball Bearing fan backed by ECO Intelligent Thermal Control (for zero fan noise during low load operations), a single, high amperage 12 V rail, and built-in Over Power/Under Power/Over Voltage/Short Circuit protection.

The SuperNOVA 850 G2 and 750 G2 are backed by a 10-year warranty (after registering with EVGA) and are priced at $159.99 and $129.99, respectively. Unfortunately the PSUs are not yet available for purchase.

Hmmm... these units show similarities to Seasonic units (mobo cable plug setup, etc.) Would be interesting to see who the OEM is.

EDIT- looks like they're Super Flower units

If it isn't a Seasonic, skip it and buy real quality for less. The immitators know how to dupe the gullible with looks and claims. JonnyGuru and Hardware Secrets tell what PSUs are quality and what is crap based on objective, accurate science not marketing hype.

Their new G2 PSU versions are the top of the line, unlike EVGA's previous offerings.

Super Flower does excellent power supplies like golden green pro and leadex(and some really crappy ones like amazon). If this is indeed leadex gold based psu, it will be one of the best perf/$ psu out there(evga euro shop supernova 750 g2 costs 100€).

Super Flower got a favorable review from JG:

Also, it's not really an imitation when they pay OEMs for the licensing of their products.

Get your head out of the ground and know your facts before you start regurgitating what you find on the internet. Both of EVGA's 850/750 G2, 1kw G2/P2 and 1.3kw P2 are based off of Super Flower's Leadex PSU.
Both OEM vers are highly rated by JonnyGuru
