ASRock Z97 OC Formula Pushes Intel Core i7-4790K CPU to 7003.38 MHz

ASRock Inc., one of global leading motherboard manufacturers keeps breaking new world records! Last week, we just saw two new world records of 7181.23 MHz and 1601 marks in Intel XTU achieved by John Lam, an overclocker from HKEPC OC with ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard and Intel Core i7-4770K CPU. Today, the legendary overclocker Nick Shih also has reached an incredible 7003.38 MHz with ASRock Z97 OC Formula and the latest Intel "Devil's Canyon" unlocked 4th Gen Core i7-4790K CPU, ranking the top 1 at HWBOT.org!
Designed and fine-tuned by Nick Shih himself, ASRock Z97 OC Formula is built with "Super Alloy Technology", including XXL Aluminum Alloy Heatsink for fast heat dissipation, Premium Alloy Choke which largely lowers working temperature, Dual-Stack MOSFET for more efficient CPU Vcore power, and NexFET MOSFET which provides DRAM power more efficiently and resistance against electrostatic discharge up to 15KV. With fast heat dissipation and stable power supply, these luxurious components are your best weapons to set new world records.
In addition to Super Alloy Technology, ASRock Z97 OC Formula packs a full array of special OC design as well, including Multiple Filter Cap, Hi-Density Power Connector, 12 Phase CPU Power design, 8 Layer PCB, 4 x 2oz copper, the newly added 4 Phase Memory Power design, and a whole lot more. Besides, ASRock also provides a secret weapon in BIOS - Jumbo V. This unique feature allows overclockers to select the most optimal voltage settings from a wider range of CPU Vcore, CPU Cache and VCCM options to a maximum of 3V for extremely overclocking. As Jumbo V is exclusively available on ASRock Z97 OC Formula, this flagship of ASRock OC series is the most powerful motherboard to break your limit and dominate the OC arena!

Unlikely. Wasn't there an article a week ago showing that they were only hitting 5-5.5 ghz max? This is probably a very cherry chip.
