TP-Link Announces Dual-band 802.11 ac Range Extender
TP-LINK today announced the power wall-mountable Universal range extender: the TP-LINK RE200 AC750 Universal Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender. The sleek miniature device is designed to conveniently extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network. The next-gen 802.11ac wireless range extender is designed to work with any Wi-Fi router and is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and 802.11ac devices. Users can now expand the total range of their 11ac networks and enjoy 802.11ac speeds of up to 750 Mbps. The TP-LINK RE200 offers simultaneous throughput of up to 300Mbps for 2.4GHz networks and an additional 433 Mbps wireless transfer rate at 5GHz.
The new range extender includes advanced 64/128/152-bit WEP, WPA-PSK/ WPA2-PSK encryptions to protect networks from potential security threats. Users can readily deploy the device within range of an existing wireless network: simply press the WPS button on the main router and the Range Extender button on the RE200, and within 2 minutes a network connection is established. Login credentials are retained internally after initial setup, allowing users to relocate the device for optimal network coverage. Additionally, the built-in Ethernet port allows the Range Extender to function as a dual-band wireless adapter to connect wired devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles, and Blu-ray players. At the same time, the device can share the wireless network with mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets.TP-LINK RE200 Highlights
Macaulay adds, "The TP-LINK RE200 can be placed wherever there is a power socket. A Smart Signal Indicator Light helps determine the best location to wall mount the device for 'dead zone' elimination. It's that simple for users to enjoy smooth HD video, music streaming and online gaming."
Availability
The TP-LINK RE200 will be available in Q4, 2014.
