NVIDIA Starts Giving Away The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with Select Products

NVIDIA started giving away game keys to the month's hottest new game release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with new purchases of select graphics cards. The company is coordinating with its AIC (add-in card) and notebook partners to give away keys that can be redeemed on Steam, with GeForce GTX 960, GeForce GTX 970 and GeForce GTX 980, on the desktop platform; and notebooks with GeForce GTX 970M (and above). The Witcher 3 is built with NVIDIA GameWorks, offering a few GeForce-exclusive features, such as HBAO+, HairWorks, and PhysX.

Hmh, gog bundle. I presume you can't use that key for steamos. Does anyone know if gog allow games to be downloaded cross platform like steam do. I'm quite concerned that this bundle will end before linux version is ready.

GOG versions play independantly of Steam, but a great many of their titles also are configured for Mac and Linux too.

Well I don't have anything against gog. They sell great drm free games, just wondered if you can use that bundled key for both win and linux versions as steam do. When witcher 2 arrived to linux I could use my win version steam backup and installed it from local backup with only files to donwload was linux binaries.

Gpu physX was released for linux months a go. Cpu physx has been linux for ages. I think Hairworks will be missing on linux port, because it uses dx11 directcompute rather than cuda and thus will be win only feature(maybe hbao+ too).

This is fairly early to announce such a promo.

TBH, I was expecting a

bundle first. (Damn you, auto formatting ^).

Regardless, nice to see it. If I end up upgrading to a gimped GM200, I certainly will see this pack-in as a slight discount (because seriously, who isn't buying this game?)

Sweet deal for those that go with the Nvidia card. The game should be awesome, and it may just be a good enough reason for me to finally grab that 970

But I still never finished Witcher 2

Me too, I didn't like the user interface ... it was almost as bad as in the first one, not adjusted for pc at all ... like playing skyrim without skyui

You DO realize that Witcher 2 was not a port? It was made exclusively for PC. It was later ported to consoles, and the team had to go in and do extensive work after release to make it run for consoles. So that was a score 1 for PC being first.

Hmm with the Titan X launching soon I might pickup a new card with this game for even cheaper than I thought.

Shame AMD is still a no show.

Yeah, not being ported from a console version made it run great but the user interface was still made for controllers ... I doubt they modified UI for the console port.
My biggest gripe is that these days when you open, for example, an inventory in your average RPG, the whole screen is covered by this UI monster thing ... instead of making a tabbed grid view in a resizeable and draggable window.
I partially blame the flash based UI (scaleform) that plagues so many titles (mostly made in unreal engine).

So i'm taking a gander and it seems that the Geforce codes for The Witcher 3 activate on GOG, not Steam. @btarunr: I know this isn't that important, but can you confirm this?

edit: It really looks like the keys are good for GOG, according the instructions on Geforce's site
