Arctic Starts Selling Thermal Pads You Cut to Shape

6.0 W/mK is better than some of the cheaper stuff on ebay but not Fujipoly Extreme good.

If the price is right it will be a viable alternative.

Meh, be more interested in them not cheeping out on gpu coolers with their perma ram\vrm heat sinks, then i might actually have a use for them haha.

I fixed an eeepc with some thermal pads from an old gpu cooler I had laying around.

Last I looked on ebay, maybe 2 years ago, I couldn't find a good deal.

Not to keep the ball rolling but I have been using this stuff for a few years now with great success. www.aitechnology.com/store/ the cool-silver comes in a 3 pack. still a little pricey but it works great.

The increase in thermal conductivity may explain the difference in price, 6.0 w/mK for the ARCTIC and 3.0-5.0 W/mK for the EK.

Also check out that 100 watt load test graph. It claims this pad outperforms even Prolimatech PK-1 thermal PASTE by 18 degrees! Must eb something very wrong with the graph as clearly that kind of result is too good to be true. What is going on there? :confused:

I have been testing CPU coolers and thermal pastes for the last 5 years or more. Differences have always been in the range of few degrees at best and even liquid metal is not more than few degrees better than good thermal paste.

So no, I do not believe such results until I see some pretty darn good explanations.
