AMD Announces Catalyst 15.7.1 WHQL Drivers

AMD announced its latest Catalyst Software Suite following Microsoft Windows 10 launch, Catalyst 15.7.1 WHQL. It adds DirectX 12 (feature level 12_0) support for all Radeon GPUs based on the Graphics CoreNext architecture, including the first-gen GCN chips, such as the HD 7000 series. To compatible GPUs, the driver enables Virtual Super-Resolution (VSR), Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC), and FreeSync (including FreeSync with CrossFire). It addresses a number of bugs specific to Windows 10.

Does it solve low VRAM usage ?
290 + gta v + 15.7 + win 10 + 1440p all max except no msaa , high grass , no advanced graphics VRAM usage just around 2gb sometimes 1.6gb (actually it should be 3.4-3.6gb) and this cause annoying stutter.

Hasn't solved anything with Quadfire (2 x 295X2), performance is still far below Crossfire (1 x 295X2). Excessive frame stuttering and drops:

Only a few games work well in full screen mode. Using windowed mode helps but this just disables Crossfire.

I'll be submitting another driver bug report, didn't even get a response last time.

Edit: You don't even own AMD GPU's (Since you claim to own G1 gaming 980's) products so how can you tell what is "Terrible" about them.

No. I own sli 980 G1s and my old rig has a 7970 with a 8350. Good try troll

Just because I made a comment on the G1 980 ti having good temps doesn't mean I own them

First off your post said about 980ti's so it was assumed.
Second, so your "old" rig has been updated to the latest driver which has been out for what 2-3 days and you have decided they are terrible without stating what is terrible about them and you have had plenty of time to extensively test them.
Not to mention most of your posts are anti amd... Yea I am the troll...

If amd did something right I would post something nice but as is I'm not going to lie and say they're doing a great job because they are not doing so. Why do you think I still have my old rig no one wants to buy it because of the amd hardware. So I let my lady play on it when she feels like it

The issues are both BF4 and Tomb Raider crashed on her within the same 30 minutes with these new drivers. When Tomb Raider crashed a second time she stopped playing because why play when you know crashes are incoming. Second TR crash was after I reinstalled the new drivers for her

I did answer that in my last post and no I don't build systems based on a single brand that would be silly and impossible to do

:shadedshu: I find that hard to believe since I played BF4 for 2 hours straight last night without a single crash... In fact have not had a recent crash on my system nor an issue with drivers in a long time. Not to mention I am finding this all hard to believe based on what you say on other threads... I am done on this discussion before this thread is full of nonsense...

The last drivers were REALLY good actually for the Fury launch. Is there any reason to download these for Windows 7 users? (AKA me)

Huh. dxdiag seems to disagree but, the lack of DX12 applications makes it a little hard to test...

only issues I have with these is that I get a black screen for a few secs on windows 10 with crossfire, looks like its related to zerocore. The performance is better than the old driver in games though.

This driver weakened my X-fire R9 280x. Both 3dMark Firestrike and Unigene Valley FPS and scores dropped. I wish i could revert back to regular 15.7 but Win10 won't let me.

My 290x is working wonderfully with Windows 10 and these drivers. I've noticed a nice performance increase from Windows 8.1.
