Giada Releases F301 Digital Signage PC

With its fanless design, the Giada F301 fulfills the growing industrial and business demands for robust and reliable mini PCs with noise-free operation and high performance. The F301 is Giada's industry-tailored mini PC that is ideal for the signage market as well as governmental organizations, public institutions, and transportation departments. The F301 brings Ultra HD digital video via DP+HDMI powered by an Intel Core i5-5200U CPU and high-speed USB3.0 data transfers all in a silent and highly reliable unattended technology package.

What allows the small size and near silent operation, yet still bringing the power, is Intel's fifth generation Core i5-4200U "Broadwell" processor offering a new performance level with a 10% CPU improvement and graphics performance of up to +30% with Intel's integrated HD Graphics 5500, and two DisplayPort 1.2 ports with audio support. The fan-less heat sink and sleek aluminum case keeps things cool, quiet and out of the way.
The Aluminum chassis was a creative design that gives the perfect radiator effect even though it is fan-less. What's more, the thickness is only 35mm, it saves the space to install it in digital signage field and also very easy to carry and setup in small spaces.

As a barebones system, it is not hard to customize the machine to be your ideal mini-pc. All that is needed is to unscrew 2 screws, and then pull out the shelf. The F301 contains plenty of I/O ports to cater to various needs. With 2 DP ports, it supports up to 4 ultra-HD mosaic screens with max resolution 3200x2000. Meanwhile, it sets aside 3 cables to make 3G, Wi-Fi and Blue-Tooth available.

Not only that, Giada has applied newly designed JAHC technology in the F301. JAHC - JEHE Active Hardware Control Technology, which provides built-in capabilities for unmanned operations such as auto power on when connected to power, or a scheduled power on /off, IR Remote Control before the OS is on. These features are almost tailored made for unattended harsh environments usage such as factories, outdoor info devices, hotels, and educational and financial institutions and are easily set up and controlled with the JAHC software that is included.

This simple DIY barebones system allows 8 GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM via a single memory slot, an expansion card, and a hard drive capacity of your choice. Expansion is supported via three Mini PCIE slots (full-length for mSATAⅡ SSD, full-length for PCIE/USB /3G, half-length for PCIe).

It is small and portable which means that you can keep it unobtrusively just about anywhere. The aluminum chassis is essentially a corrugated heat sink and functions as an efficient and silent heat dissipater because of the large surface area.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 supports DirectX 11 for gaming. One display port and one HDMI port provide flexible multi-display feature at up to 4K video resolution. The onboard IR module with an infrared sensor on the front panel or through an IR adapter connected to a 3.5 mm jack can be used to control the entertainment system via a remote control, which can be bought separately.

Network connectivity is provided via a Gigabit Ethernet port, while you can even add a half-length Mini PCIE Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n card for wireless connectivity. The system has four Super Speed USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. There are even two Serial ports to connect legacy devices.

The Giada F301 also caters to business or governmental users with its integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) technology, which provides hardware security for user's data. The system is also equipped with a Phoenix EFI BIOS with support for an ACPI interface. The systems are fully compatible with the majority of popular operating systems including Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Linux.

The MSRP for the F301 barebone system with Intel Core i5-5200U is US$424.

TPM can be manipulated since it is hardware and they already demonstrated it. It is better to run the whole encryption in the OS.
