pretty sexy, im not gonna lie. Think this will be my next chipset. I have been wanting to go back with AMD for a while, but waiting for something like this. Im excited to see how the onboard devices function and what is standard with these chips (sata, how many. how fast the read and write speed are etc..) But I really like hows its going to power down my HD2900XT when its not being used. SWEET!!!

That is the biggest selling point for me!! I am actually excited about this one! :)

Let's face it AMD is doing well in everything except their primary product line, the processors. At least the drop in the processors' market share suggests that.

WOW, ive been saying we need somthing like this for years, im glad to see somone has finialy steped up to the plate... one thing i did notice in the clip was they said if you are in not using a 3D intensive app (2d work) it will power down the main gfx card, dose anyone know if "power down" is reduce its speed or actualy turn off the gfx card???

Well, this is a great new feature in general, being able to turn off your GFX when your'e not gaming is awesome in any way. AMD-ATI shows again that although they are not controlling the CPU market, they sure can innovate and develop some brilliant and useful technologies. i'm in.

Oh, NVidia is sure to follow :)

The 2900xt isnt planed to shut off when working in a 780 Board.

That is pretty cool though... So your video card pretty much powers down when your at windows desktop eh? That actually makes sense.... I might be getting one of these platforms for my girlfriend maybe, seems like a good amount of power, maybe throw a 3650 in there too, then she can play oblivion on her OWN computer.... and we wont have to pay for an 8800gs or 3850...

You don't often see a company state that when pairing their own products together you can gain unparalled pc performance. amd board, amd graphics, amd cpu=spider platform?? i'm not even sure if i'm right on this, but it's what it looksl ike.

Nvidia's Hybrid SLI and AMD's Hybrid Crossfire were both working a month ago. But I guess this means AMD will possibly be the first to put out the boards that support it in mass production. I was wondering when they would start marketing.:)

Even though it has new, hitherto unheard of features does not change the fact that it is a "northbridge" chipset with a very similar name as a competing company's.

Im so close to buy my [first] Intel system, and now i see this, so now i don't know if to wait for this. Looks mighty promising though.:eek:

Aw, it really doesn't matter...When you look at motorcycles, all of the major players have 600's, 750's and 1000's and such. People will just have to make sure they specify which brand they want...AND that should be easy as there are only 2 chipsets and 2 diff CPU companies to choose from. :rolleyes: I do agree with you though, they could have been a little more creative with the naming...On the flip side of that coin, I really like the whole idea behind this product:D...AMD's slowly but surely turning their situation around.:toast:
