MSI Releases its List of AM3 CPU-compatible Motherboards

MSI released its partial list of motherboards that will support 45nm AM3-socket processors by AMD. The list includes all its AM2+ motherboards based on AMD 7-series and NVIDIA nForce 700a series chipsets. As of now, MSI released beta versions of the BIOS that expands its CPU support base, but it is expected that the company comes out with release-grade BIOS soon. The list, unlike ASUS' list, doesn't leave out any of its flagship motherboards.

As for the processor TDP, it will reduce to from 140W to 125W. Support DDR3 memory is the most important feature of the AM3 CPU. It is a major upgrade for users looking for high-performance platform.

In order to serve the users well, before the 45nm Phenom processor sale in the market, MSI provides an easy upgrade concept. At present, a number of products have completed the pre-verification procedures, and enables consumers to download the BIOS, including the AMD 7 series and NVIDIA nForce series chipset based products. Users will enjoy the fun of upgrading to new nanometer process processor.

Looks like a decent list there with a good hand full of boards that are supported including the K9A2 Platinum. It's funny though how right at the end MSI claims that it would be fun to upgrade your processor. ;)

Now where's Deneb?! The stage is set with boards that are supported from ASUS and MSI...now where are the chips?!

I noticed that too. There top of the line AMD 790FX boards are supported. C'mon Asus, get up with the times here. Now, Id like to see what Gigabyte offers for support.

BIOSTAR Please release support for Deneb

Damn should I return mine and get one of these?

So will the bios be the crippled ones like AM2 to AM2+ or will it be full fledged?
