Report: ASUS Plans Merger of Eee PC and Notebook Departments

Although company officials decline to comment on the story, third party informers claim that ASUSTeK is considering consolidating its Eee PC and notebook departments to help increase efficiency and decrease the management costs for the two departments. With no official information to work with, details are sketchy, but at least we know something is going on. If not, you'll be the first to know.
Asustek Computer is considering consolidating its Eee PC and notebook departments to help increase efficiency and decrease the management costs for the two departments, according to market sources. The sources have noted that Asustek has already sent out documents of the merger plan to all related department personnel and will work out a schedule in the near future.
Asustek president Jerry Shen has declined to comment on the sources' claims.

This would be good, then the EEE PC department would stop making so many versions to cater to every single niche of the market!

Who wants a 4" Netbook anyways? Asus is teaming up with Garmin to make the Nuvifone which will be a portable GPS device with all the iPhone capabilities so no wonder they scrapped the small screened netbooks.

Now they won't get their lines confused. I hate all the different models of netbooks, confusing, make 2 models, that's it.

4 inch? What're you on about? The smallest notebook thats produced by ASUS is a 9 inch notebook....
