    Graphics card running at 8x 4.0 not 16x 4.0

Check your cpu clocks, the 11700f has a base clock of 2.5ghz, and a tdp of 65watts. Your old cpu had less cores, but has more efficient and has a tdp of 95watts, with a base clock of 4.1ghz. Performancewise it is a downgrade.

I wonder how much performance could be gained with m4 chip in iPad pro OLED, if it had an AirJet

The airjets take a huge chunk of space inside a tablet, and consume a lot of power. Having two small holes the size of an headphone jack would block most of the airflow. And I don't know if the airjets are waterproof. So it would be 42.7% faster

NVIDIA Advertises "Premium AI PC" Mocking the Compute Capability of Regular AI PCs

Problem is that a "premium AI PC" could have no NPU and not be compatible with "AI PC" software. IMHO the AI PC thing is BS, putting an NPU next to an iGPU that already has AI cores makes no sense. NPUs, again in my opinion, will consume more power than a discrete GPU, because people will...

PCI-SIG Announces CopprLink Cable Specifications for PCIe 5.0 and 6.0 Technology

I wonder if it would be cheaper to use cables instead of traces on a motherboard

AMD "Strix Point" Mobile Processor Confirmed 12-core/24-thread, But Misses Out on PCIe Gen 5

The SoC die looks much like a discrete gpu chip with 2 extra infinity fabric links, they might be able to link togheter 2 of those SoC dies or just reuse them singularly for an entry level gpu SKU. Though I dont think IF links are fast enough to link 2 GPUs

US Weighs National Security Risks of China's RISC-V Chip Development Involvement

x86, power, mips are ok, but risc-v is where we draw the line! You will not enter the "half a raspberrypi performance" market! And we'll make sure by... something or other! (I know risc-v is not to blame for the performance of current consumer products)

Github comments used to push malware via Microsoft repo urls

Problem is that those files are attached to nothing, only way to find them is if somebody is trying to screw you by sending a link. And the link looks legit

Is It The 1080 TI The Best GPU Ever?

To me it is the 290, it can still play modern games, at very low settings, below 60 fps, but still playable, and is much older than the 1080ti. And it, or the 390, had some chips that could be unlocked to the X SKU. Also very slow memory that a tinkerer could swap for much faster chips.

Qualcomm Continues to Disrupt the PC Industry with the Addition of Snapdragon X Plus Platform

HDD is very slow to be recognized

It might be the sata connector, try touching it in inappropriate ways while it is copying a file, if you see it suddenly working and then stopping again while you're playing with it, you could fix it by soldering the cable. If nothing happens, the connector is not the problem. If it is the...

AMD "Strix Halo" Zen 5 Mobile Processor Pictured: Chiplet-based, Uses 256-bit LPDDR5X

If the MC is like the one in phoenix, it should be able to run ddr5. I doubt any laptop manufacturer would put 4 sodimm slots, but they might, just to sell them with only one stick. Also, if the article is correct, this is all speculation from some randoms on the internet that have seen an...

Time to update the motherboards layout!

I like the horizontal memory slots, but the pcie slot will be incompatible with existing products and also limit the cpu cooler space. It also lacks expandibility with more pcie slots

Apple Preparing M4 Chips with AI Capabilities to Fight Declining Mac Sales

Yes it's an ASIC, you pay for extra silicon real estate that you're not gonna use. It will make collecting your data more energy efficient.

Microsoft Copilot to Run Locally on AI PCs with at Least 40 TOPS of NPU Performance

Usually new tech comes out as hardware first, and a few decades later we start seeing the first programs to use it. Why is this new tech out as software first, with no hardware available?
