    RM750x (2021) enough for my 5800X3D + 7900XT system?

I see zero problems with this. I run an Antec 750W that has powered this stamped steel coffin from Phenom II X4 955, FX-8370 and now R5 3600. It currently mains: ASUS X570 TUF, 64GB DDR4-3200, RX 580 Red Devil (Switching to 7900XT today), SolarFlare SFN5122F, USB headers 3x120mm fans at half...

Your way of cooling your PC?

Lol, I thought I was the only one that sticky noted HDDs like that so I moved on to making my own duty labels. I don't know what flavor of tism this is but it is way easier with a back face sticker writing in the 開 date, 25K, 50K, 75K, Noise, Dead. Fans get a similar treatment too.

Your way of cooling your PC?

One of these? I've always considered water cooling a modern GPU but held off of doing it to the 580 because water cooling a RX 580 Red Devil is actually stupid. Sooooo 7900XT is a hard maybe. What kind of idle and peak temps did you see before and after?

Western Digital Unveils New 8TB SanDisk Desk Drive

Strange that it has two lines going to it. Looks really useful for nearline backups but outside of that, not for me.

Your way of cooling your PC?

FX rack: Cute half height 70mm CPU fan on an otherwise OEM AMD box cooler, array of 4x Zalman fans for a cheap wind tunnel effect. Ryzen tower: CPU on custom loop (Wraith Prism when testing/dry) with GPU on stock air cooling, maybe more fans for a wind tunnel. Some active cooling on chipset...

Only some humans can see refresh rates faster than others, I am one of those humans.

Might want to get started on studying that now if that's the case. Myopia rates have been exploding these past few years.

Only some humans can see refresh rates faster than others, I am one of those humans.

It was a few weeks ago when ThioJoe posted the freshest of refresh memes and I can't believe the staggering effect it had on so many users. JFC you mean to tell me people don't check their refresh settings? In late 2016 I picked up my first 144Hz monitor, a Nixeus VUE24. A steep upgrade from...

Brother bought a house, found some old PC hardware..

It's another nForce4 chip like the one on my AM2 build. Fan is appreciated, definitely not required. I stash this thing away in its own little cubbyhole next to my modem and 360. Rear of the desk has a cutout and 80mm fan on USB power to direct some airflow across ~20TB of storage. Minimal...

Looking for recommendations to upgrade the GPU

I mean, for a vanilla 1600 that's a good MCLK. Might be the bar for a 2600. I'm on a 3600 and have mine pinned at 4GHz with 3200MT dimms at 3600MT. This is fine.

Arctic MX-6 shelf life is just a couple months?

I used to use some Thermaltake/Koolance solution before moving on to Arctic Silver 5 for about 20 years and now I'm using MX-4. Haven't experienced this issue but I remember the screeching abouty MX-5. It could be a similar issue going on. Guys, this is why reviews matter. Not just the good ones...

Windows 11 Now Officially Adware as Microsoft Embeds Ads in the Start Menu

This should be the bar. And this is the part where the rubber leaves the pavement. Ever since 2003 I've been in the camp of "every part should be possible to manipulate through commandline" and it wasn't until PowerShell apps and Nanoserver that I realized "yeah that includes app shims." :wtf...

Is it better for zero RPM PSUs to place the fan on top?

Depends on the orientation. I still use a 750W Antec from the old era and have torn through it to replace the single 135mm fan twice. It's typically in a downward position to pull air from the case and belch it out the side(rear). I've experimented with flipping the mount bracket and PSU when...

New R5 3600 build, memory write speed slow??

The clockspeed, timings and memory controller need as much agreement as possible. Trust me it's fine. That's on a 2x16GB kit. Then there's 4x16GB:

Looking for recommendations to upgrade the GPU

Look at the bare minimum for what you want to play. Now look at the ideal experience for your monitor. If your system is using a GT710 it's either because pushing those pixels was originally an afterthought or the purpose was wildly different from any form of modern gaming. There's a better...
