Funny, the psu that i had that really popped loudly was a cx aswell, cx750 - they really aren't very high quality those cx psu's... had used it as a cheap psu for a spare pc... but found out the hard way that i had gone a bit too cheap... lol.
I have had brand new psu's literally pop before (cheap units), so i know. You can always get dodgy hardware. But when it's been rock solid for 12 years, then i see it as a very slim chance of happening. Like even running a 4090 at 600w, im still a loooong way away from really pushing it. I was...
Apparently the sarcasm was lost on you. No, an ax1200i will have no issues running 30 series, nor 40 series. At no point have i had any instability, nor when running my 4090 3+ ghz at 600 watts.
Handles 4090 at 600w np.
Using a psu made for 12 pin is alot less of a fire risk than using 8 pin to 12 pin adaptors...
Though as i said, no one should be using 12 pin in the first place, as it is a sh1tty connector... but nvidia in their infinite wisdom is forcing it on people now...
It has been like this, yes... but honestly it's a bit stupid / annoying that they do it like this... so if you want the best gaming performance, you gotta buy a 7950x3d and disable the non-3d ccx to get a 5% performance uplift over the 7800x3d...
No doubt about that - especially if you run it with low power hardware, as it will barely tax the psu. And it runs passive below 50% load, aka below 600 watts.
And the whole 12 pin power shinanigans is only relevant with highend nvidia cards (shouldn't be used on any gpu though ! Nvidia made up...
Still just a dodgy adapter. You basically never wanna use adapters for high power.
And besides that, it's 12 years old, well past the warranty - so it's a safety precaution allround.
I still use my ax1200i, which i bought in 2012... no instability or issues, even when i ran quad sli on it back in the day, or with the 4090 today.
But i will probably get a new psu with 5090, just to get that fire hazard 12 pin adapter out of my pc...
Starfield deffo wont - cyberpunk was always a good game with an interesting story, and very good side quests with good character development - it was just buggy for some people and needed polishing.
Starfield on the other hand was / is a mediocre game at its core at best. Like i had alot of fun...
Been playing a bit of cyberpunk again at 8k (apparently you have to zoom in a little before the picture is loaded in high quality)

Must have been, yeah - lowest mine can do is 925mv before i gotta start dropping the clocks. Though honestly 2600 mhz at 900mv doesn't really make that much of a performance difference either, which makes sense since it's only a clock reduction of 3%.
Nice, so less than 50% in actual usage -...
