It's still all about raster performace for me. Sure DLSS is nice to have, but then again higher raw raster frames also translates into higher DLSS frames. My rule of thumb is upgrade GPU when the new thing is at least 50% faster than the old one and 30% for a CPU. I used to upgrade every 2nd gen...
X3D cache made a huge difference in some racing and flight sims, especially on 01/1% lows. MSFS 2020 and AC competizione went from borderline unplayable on 5700X due to stutters, to quite smooth experience on 5700X3D and I have no doubt updrading to 7800X3D would mean additional jump in frame...
Frequency is not the main limiting factor of X3D chips when it comes to games so I don't expect more than 0-8% real life gaming performance increase versus 7800X3D. Doubling the V-cache would be way more beneficial to gaming performance in games that take advantage of additional close cache than...
Because 4070TIS is hardly cutting it for flight sim VR usage and with MS FS2024 two months away I was really hoping that 5080 would at least trade blows with 4090 and be priced around 1200 bucks. I guess Ngreedia don't want us to buy it's dies anymore besides junk non usable for AI learning...
I don't believe it but if this rumor turns out to be true, 5080 will be a complete shitshow. The RTX 4090 has 16384 shading units so good luck matching it's rasterization performance with only 10,752 FP32 CUDA cores paired with a 256-bit memory bus. This thing will be around 20%, maybe 30%...
This is extremely bad news for us enthusiasts. Without competition Ngreedia's prices will skyrocket. Prepare to pay at least $1499 for 5080 and $1999 for 5090:mad:
Why is the main character so ugly in Star Wars Outlaws? It makes no sense. I wanna play a hot chick like in Stellar blade if I have to play as a woman anyway. And why can't I simply create a character to my own liking like I could in Baldur's gate III anyway?
Lots of cache really makes a huge difference when it comes to microstutters. I went from 5600X to 5800X3D and now 7800X3D. All I can say as a VR flight simmer these were all huge jumps. Stable 0.1%/1% lows are all that really matters when it comes to VR and 7800X3D delivers big time on this...
Intel is soooo f....ed atm. It's not only the retail being effected it's also big data centers that are having stability problems with last gen CPUs according to PC world sources.
