AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB

The performance is about what could realistically be expected, and it does offer very good value. What I am worried about is the fact that AMD has been touting Polaris' power efficiency, when it turns out AMD is in reality an entire generation behind in performance/watt compared to Nvidia. Even...

95W TDP of "Skylake" Chips Explained by Intel's Big Graphics Push

No doubt that is the case and the reason why Intel is doing it this way, but I wonder if they could possibly disable the iGPU on the unlocked models.

95W TDP of "Skylake" Chips Explained by Intel's Big Graphics Push

I don't get why Intel even includes an iGPU on the unlocked models. I'm pretty sure no one buys unlocked processors and don't get a dedicated GPU.

NVIDIA GeForce Titan X 12 GB

Anyone who buys this card for gaming is still pretty dumb. This card is clearly meant for other purposes, but Nvidia is branding it in a way so that gamers with too much money might still buy it. Just shows that GTX 970 SLI is still probably the ideal setup for 4K gaming at the moment.

MSI GTX 960 Gaming OC 2 GB

Safe bet from Nvidia. Same price to performance as the R9 285, but a lot more power efficient. AMD is starting to lack a bit in the architectural department. Let's hope Fiji is more power efficient than the current Hawaii and Tonga cores.

Only 1 channel of audio from HP EliteBook

It's fixed now, seems like it was the cable, which is BS because it was a new cable. I guess I shouldn't cheap out on cables anymore.

Only 1 channel of audio from HP EliteBook

I doubt it's the port because when we plug the old speakers in, it works. The cable works too, because as I said it does play stereo when plugged it in to his Galaxy S4. That's why I'm thinking it's a driver/settings thing. I've tried to dig around the volume properties, but haven't found where...

Only 1 channel of audio from HP EliteBook

Yes the cable is plugged all the way in. That's the most obvious possibility I guess.

Only 1 channel of audio from HP EliteBook

So just bought a pair of bookshelf speakers and a generic amp for my dad. We hooked them up to his HP Elitebook laptop with a component audio to 3.5 mm cable, but end up only getting 1 channel of audio. It's not the amp, the speakers or the cable, as plugging his Galaxy S4 Mini in results in...

    Evolve Big Alpha Keys Here

So I signed up twice for the big alpha, so today I got sent 8 more keys. Since my friends already have their key, I thought I'd share them here. EDIT: Seems like all of my keys have been used, but there might be some keys posted by other people that still haven't been. CODE for PC...

    No power to peripherals

Ok, I manually updated Windows and also updated the BIOS as I said in the previous post, as well as downloaded the newest drivers for everything from Asus' website, and now it seems to be working again. Again, thanks to everyone for helping me solve the problem, even though I still don't know...

    No power to peripherals

Ok, I've pretty much done everything except swapping PSU's or the mobo. I've set BIOS settings to factory default. Still doesn't restart. It just weirds me out that it boots fine and shuts down fine, but won't restart. Oh and I've also updated the BIOS to the newest version.

    No power to peripherals

Fished out these warnings about restart manager from event log: Application 'C:\Windows\System32\wbem\WmiPrvSE.exe' (pid 2164) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID.. Application 'C:\Windows\System32\dasHost.exe' (pid 2148) cannot be restarted - Application SID does...

    No power to peripherals

Actually, I did a fresh install, and it still doesn't restart. It shuts down just fine, but whenever I restart, the computer stays on, but everything else turns off and stays off. But what hardware problem can keep you from restarting?

    No power to peripherals

I'm actually running stock right now. Drives have been checked for errors. My SSD is pretty empty and also optimized. Boot order is correct. Not sure about that firmware update, I'd rather not brick my drive. Also, it seems that it sometimes manages to restart, but both restart and shut down...
