hell.
2,5 ghz memory exist.

Do also 3600 mhz NB
2,6 ghz HT
4.8 ghz cpu clock, its easy with dryice or or LN2.

Isnt much of a achievement if you ask me, the NB nor HT clock is anymore than you can do with a stock system, memory i dunno much about, except that there is higher rated memory chips out there!

props to AMD to take dualchannel memory crown.

Nice overclock, but those memory timings are horrific; this RAM isn't much use unless you're going to be pushing it to 2500MHz every day.

As for Super PI - my Yorkfield is a generation behind but manages to do 1M in under 13 sec (50% faster than a 6-core Phenom, and with 50% fewer cores) - my CPU has triple the L2 cache of the Phenom as well! I've never understood why AMD skimps on cache, it seems such a waste...

:slap: Number of cores has nothing to do with it, its a single threaded test. ;)

Awesome work corsair.

20 LinX and 24 Hours Prime Blend and 12 Hours MemTest or it doesn't count.

1095T is what my ES 1055T shows up as.

They were going for a record frequency, not some boring day to day shit.

True, and add that L2 cache is good for singlethread, not for multithread.
Amd will outperform in Wprime, not superpi.

superpi have always been a intel camp since launch of core 2.
I personally like wprime better since its multithreaded, intel still wins in it, but tells more overall perf!

OK, Please forgive me If I'm just being a giant dick, or just having a generally stupid day - It's been known to happen..

But what the hell is the point in this?

I have a nearly 4 year old virtually stock standard Intel Q6600 system on similarly old & standard SuperTalent DDR2 400 ram - running only a TINY overclock, and I appear to beat out a brand new Phenom X6 , with apparently the worlds FASTEST ram?

Should I be E-Baying my pc to NASA for like $50 000 or something?

I just don't get it - My CPU is 1588Mhz slower, and my ram is 697Mhz slower - and I bench FASTER?

Are AMD systems really THAT bad? Or have I missed something?

Oh AND that Benchmark was just run with all my crap going, this web session open AND my WCG crunching... Not even a clean run...

AMD systems are not known for their good mathematical calculations. It will bench slower in every maths based benchmark. However, in real life situations....

Yes I hear that a lot but I still destroy just about ANY other real world bench anyone has ever given me.

Zip / Rar .. Video Encoding ... 3D Rendering... Encryption... My Junky 4year old Q6600 Dumping on just about any AMD processor there is .. TODAY ... (obviously excluding their very very biggest chips.. those I'm just pretty much matching)

I know a LOT of folks who love to talk big about AMD but nobody has the goods when it's time to play :) - Apart from horrendously overclocked systems, that cost 2X what mine did to begin with... And yes those ARE faster - but that's like buying a Ferrari, and then supercharging it to out race a moped, and only beating the moped by 5 seconds...

I suppose it's really a debate for another thread - I just cant see how ANY processor based on TODAY'S technology - running 1500Mhz + FASTER , with the worlds FASTEST RAM could possibly Lose in ANY benchmark to a 4 year old junker running stock on rather SLOW ram indeed...

as was pounded into my face with a mallet earlier in the thread, intel wins at pure math stuff. AMD keeps up for gaming and other less intensive tasks - and they're cheaper.

If you want mathy ballsy grunt, go intel.

Cache is proberly the most expensive part on a CPU.

And furthermore, SuperPi is an application where a Intel CPU does much better. I'd like to compare your Yorkfield vs a Phenom II in Games. Is your yorkfield faster?

these superpi scores mean nothing P4 used to get lower scores than AMD athlons and same with the later A64 but in the real world the AMD's were crushing Intel.

my brother brought a 4870 and i was using 8800gt sli in 3dmark i would beat him (by afew thousand) for no other reason than phsyx but in the real world when we were gaming the difference was obvious, the 4870 was better, smoother, faster. some people read to much into these kinds of benchmark scores.

latest sandforce based ones seem pretty snazzy... if they come with a 5 year warranty on some models, the manufs at least think they'll last that long

Wow nice. Not sure what that means exactly unless you are doing intense graphical and cpu intensive apps.

Exactly, and even under LN2, you'll barely need that. 6.4ghz and 4.5NB isn't exactly an easy thing. I mean..it's CAS9, FFS. They are running 2800mhz NB. 3600mhz NB and 900MHZ CAS6ram will probably perform better. 1150mhz ram is cool and all, but only those going for WR might be interested in buying(and few of those, even). They probably know that though.
