Wouldn't it make more sense to use heatpipes inside PSU and line the fins on them at the exhaust (like laptops are designed). Using water for PSU's is a really bad idea.

Can a PSU look worse than that in the first picture? (Not that I'm looking at mine too often)
Also, if the PSU has a fan (and presumably a radiator), why does the water still have to go outside? If the PSU doesn't have a radiator, why does it still have a fan?

To be honest adding a PSU to your CPU/GPU loopis a BAAAD idea imo! :D, So only situation it makes sense to me is with a stand alone loop. Having a system that performs exponetially worse when a GPU starts to require 300w-ish is not smart :/

Only for switching stuff, but chokes for example need to be cooled too and that's one of the reasons why we now almost only have perpendicular airflow (120~140mm fan blowing directly on the PCB).

What's more annoying is the ridiculous PoV of the press release : it's not by throwing each and every hype on the planet in it you'll gain market share, in particular, "blockchain and cryptocurrency mining tasks" is becoming a boring very bad running gag.

That design idea is still under patent by Zalman

Besides that with all of the high end power supplies we have now reaching efficiency ratings in the 90+ precent range extra cooling is some what irrelevant. If you think about it, with an 800w PSU under typical gaming loads with modern hardware your only producing around 30 watts of waste heat give or take depending on your efficiency curve and actual load.
