Mad Catz Global Limited, the leading innovators in gaming hardware, is excited to announce shipping of two new console products, the EGO Arcade FightStick and the C.A.T. 7 Controller, each boasting multi-format compatibility, stunning designs and a high-specification feature set.

Leading the charge is a triumphant return to fighting game controllers in the form of the EGO Arcade FightStick. Legendary for their dominance in the category, the EGO is a long-awaited return to a fan-favorite Mad Catz range.

The EGO Arcade FightStick, sports a brand new design with the same renowned commitment to authenticity and quality made famous by Mad Catz. Taking full advantage of the genuine Sanwa Denshi arcade components, the 'Vewlix style' chassis with accurate arcade spacing between the 8 action buttons has been created to meet the highest expectations of the fighting game community.

Engineered for customization, the mod-friendly design allows gamers to make-their-mark on the controller, with easy access to customize the top panel, arcade joystick and action buttons. The Sanwa Denshi 8-way ball-top joystick and action buttons look, feel and react just as they do in the arcades, delivering unrivalled accuracy and timing.

The EGO is packed with features that cater to hardcore fighting game players. A key lock function disables certain feature buttons to avoid accidental halt to the game during competitive play and designed in compliance with tournament rules, and the stick mode switch gives players the ability to configure the ball-top joystick to replicate the controller left or right thumb stick or D-Pad actions.

The first multi-format Arcade FightStick from Mad Catz, the EGO is fully compatible with PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

In addition to the EGO, Mad Catz is also excited to announce shipping of the C.A.T. 7 controller.

Built around optimized ergonomics designed to stay comfortable through hours of battle, the C.A.T. 7 supports both Windows PC and console platform for multi-format gaming. Ideal for competitive play, the additional 2 profiles and macro functions make complex controls a breeze and the extra 2 tact buttons and 4 paddles can be easily mapped to numerous controller functions. In addition, the C.A.T. 7 features an OLED panel relaying vital guru information and control configuration, while the detachable Micro-USB cable provides simple portability for traveling. The Mad Catz EGO Arcade FightStick and C.A.T. 7 Controller are beginning to ship globally now. Availability may vary by region.

Unless it can survive multiple full-force smashes with a fist, it's not a true arcade controller. :)

Mad Catz hasn't been junk since 2009 when Street Fighter 4 came out. When they became brand partners with Capcom they completely overhauled their quality control. Since then their arcade sticks and controllers have been top notch in the industry.

Sanwa parts on the fight stick, passes through native controller to avoid compatibility issues. I wonder if they planned ahead for the next gen, since they will be using USB-c for connection and not micro USB like current gen. I guess they'll have to switch the bundled cables at some point or expect users to buy their own.

I've never had a problem with MadCatz. Like every other company they had problem, but they were always trying new things. Sometimes the new idea was a dud, sometimes it was just ok but they came up with some great ideas over the years. Example, BITD they released small form-factor controllers for Playstation, Gamcube and Xbox. They rocked. Even though I have huge hands, the mini controller for Gamecube was SOOO comfortable. That was 2002. I still have all 4 of them and they all work perfectly.

And now they have different types of experiences that we did not have back then (drones, VR, etc...)

Compared to this, being able to "smash game controller with full force" sounds rather weak and unappealing.

Not sure what you guys are on about. Weak and unappealing? I beg to differ, well on the weak part, I believe the controller survived

MadCatz was junk back in 2000s, but they're a lot better today. Authentic Sanwa buttons means you're getting official Arcade actuation. These things typically cost $200 in my experience, and are worth it for anyone going for an arcade experience at home. Ultimately, I'll wait till after Shoryuken does a review of a stick before criticizing it... there's some stick-player experts on the internet and its not really a subject for laymen to fully understand...

I literally can't play with a stick though. So its not my kind of product. Hmmm... maybe I should buy one eventually and learn to play with a stick.

That arcade stick is just a rebadge. I have it under the DragonSlay brand and it is called DGSAK19. It has the same Sanwa parts. I bought it for 130€ two months ago. A previous rebadge was barely $60 bucks with worse parts but with the same chassis as LeEco LeGFS-201.
