As reported by BusinessKorea, Apple, one of the largest companies in the world, will source its 3D NAND from Chinese memory maker Yangtze Memory Technologies Corp (YMTC). Known for supplying 3D NAND to Chinese SSD makers, YTMC's reported contract with Apple will fuel the upcoming iPhone 14 SKU manufacturing. Whether or not this partnership will expand to other products, it is essential to have as many storage sources as possible, as Apple sells millions of devices per year. YTMC is on track to deliver 3D NAND flash with the latest Xstacking 3.0 six-plane architecture that provides triple-level cell storage with I/O speeds of 2400 MT/s.

YTMC has joined the list of 3D NAND flash vendors that Apple works with, including SK Hynix, Samsung, Kioxia, and possibly others. This partnership also highlights that the Chinese memory output is sufficient and significant enough to break into more markets worldwide, not remaining exclusive to domestic use.

Advertising that you are incapable of understanding humor and sarcasm, while also making clear that you are easily triggered for no reason, is not in your advantage. I think.

But, please, don't stop I might be wrong.
(PS This is my last reply to you, because it's already beyond ridiculous and there is no reason to derail the thread)

Edit: Sorry, I reread your first post now and I saw that I was completely wrong.
I'm just sick of this kind of tracking from one country is unacceptable while the tracking from another is perfectly acceptable and couldn't take it this time.

Apple should reduce dependency on China, for obvious reasons. They do the opposite. Wow.

Why? The American cartel of tech mega corporations need more competition. They're funneling $Billions in profits into shareholder pockets. They'd pillage every last cent from your corpse if they could, they're not your friends. I welcome the rise of Chinese rivals in every market.

Nice, now when you buy an iPhone you can be guaranteed that you are helping to fund a regime that routinely commits human rights offenses against its citizens.

a nation should only commit human right offenses against other countries citizens, like with guantanuamo or the Chagossian people. But not even that with the discriminatory black people killing by the police inside the US borders. Anyway... this should not be political topic.

Same line of thinking the gave USSR the atomic bomb, kudos!

Not necessarily. Said NAND could still be aimed at Chinese-sold devices.

Very good point.

Chinese where very upset with the new rules about selling high performing GPUs to China and now the probably biggest US company making hi end devices, chooses a Chinese company to order NAND, which means, what, dozens, hundred of millions of dollars in orders? It could be just Apple's decision, a way to prevent the Chinese government from taking for example a rush decision to ban Apple devices from China as a retaliation for the latest rules about Nvidia and AMD GPUs sold to China. It could be just coincidence.

Obviously having a huge amount of NAND is a system doesn't make it faster, so I guess US doesn't mind if Chinese companies become the top NAND manufacturers in the world. That move from Apple could also be what politicians needed to somewhat easy the tensions and send the message that "There, we still do business with you. Just play nice".

3D NAND - not by itself. You have to combine it with 5G. However that might not even matter. I thought I saw an article awhile back if you set your iPhone language to Chinese your data will be relocated to China servers because compliance reasons.

Actually this topic is about Apple a US company. You must have got lost somewhere mate. :kookoo:

The problem is not the few dollars of the NAND but not buying Apple products to "fund a regime with human rights offenses" in the US

It's only a problem if you (think you) know what people should be buying. In the free world, we have a right to choose what we want to spend our $$$ on.

Considering how much stuff comes from China, every American already is. and English, and german, and french, etc etc. Personally I have no problem with Chinese stuff, or the country.
