Western Digital Corp., an industry-leading provider of storage technologies and solutions, today announced a new partnership with Epic Games and Nintendo to deliver the first officially licensed Fortnite SanDisk microSDXC card for Nintendo Switch. The exclusive Fortnite branded memory card for Nintendo Switch is designed to provide players with consistent and reliable storage as they drop into Fortnite, no matter how they play. The card has also been tested and approved for use with all Nintendo Switch Systems and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty to give gamers the peace of mind needed to land in command.

Inspired by the epic Skull Trooper (128 GB) and legendary Cuddle Team Leader (256 GB) Outfits, the exterior design of the cards pay homage to some of the most rare and popular Outfits in the game. As a bonus, fans who purchase the card will receive a code to redeem the rare Angular Flow Wrap, sure to mesmerize any squadmate.

"With hundreds of millions of fans across the globe, Epic Games is a leader and innovator in the gaming industry," said Susan Park, vice president of Consumer Solutions Product Management, Western Digital. "We're thrilled to partner with Epic Games and Nintendo to help up-level the gaming experience for fans by bringing our specially themed memory cards to the Fortnite community."

The Fortnite SanDisk microSDXC card for Nintendo Switch retails for $26.99 (128 GB) and $49.99 (256 GB) and is available now at select Western Digital retailers, e-tailers and on the Western Digital online store.

The partnership was brokered by IMG, Fortnite's exclusive worldwide agency for consumer products licensing.

Considering replacing your SD card means redownloading your entire library and careful management of save files, 128/256 is far too small. Should be at least 1TB. Also LMFAO at fortnite SD cards.

yeah, they could have at least included a sticker or something for the console or a case.

late stage capitalism is lazy though, this is expected.

i have another hobby where we used to get a sticker with every component, but then it stopped because of the "less waste" thing, or maybe that was an excuse for companies to spend a few cents less. But even in PC i remember getting a lot of stickers in the past, and that's also gone, that or i'm buying the wrong items.

heatsinks, motherboards, and pc cases still have them, at least they did as of 1-2 years ago when I did my last build.

I have the older one with a mushroom.

Those are same Sandisk Extreme Plus, but usually cheaper as it ain't intended for photography people who are milked by anyone and their dogs with high prices.

But why... w

There's a good reason why. Most people buying electronics are not like us who post on tech forums. They have no idea what they are buying. And consoles have often destroyed shitty media. Everyone here knows brands to avoid, speeds, specs, compatibility but the average person does not. So a licesnsend and branded official product is something they can trust. It will work exactly as intended even if you could get a better deal for less. The character logos and stuff are partly based off what someone might like and also to tell size.

I have a Switch and my SO wanted to get me a surprise so she went out and bought the 512 officially branded card because she felt confident in it. She's bought me various other electronic stuff before that just flat out failed.

It's no more stupided the officially branded say headsets for the PS5. Is the Sony one the best, no but it's a safe buy. Is the branded Steelseries the best, no but it's a safe buy. Oddly officially branded stuff cuts down on snake oil nonsense because it's forced into X price range, tested, certified, and performs acording to X standards. Rather than the fucking slew of non official stuff all over the price range where people who aren't tech nerds have no idea if it's a good buy, just trash, or a total rip off.

heatsinks, motherboards, and pc cases still have them, at least they did as of 1-2 years ago when I did my last build.

Still do. They also sell graphics cards with up skirt shots of underage anime girls as stickers. As always PC takes the cake when it comes to tasteless crap. I'm putting up a tame one. Stay classy PC gaming, oh wait you never were.

If they look the dame, you have to lable them.

I intentionally wanted a different look, as I know this one is raspbian or windows iot etc.

Basically it does matter, as this time it does not bring added costs.
