Looking forward to the reviews on this card. MSRP on the 3080 Ti is $900 and this card should beat it while doing it for cheaper.

MSRP on the 3080 Ti $1200 according to TPU database, which was a rip compared to the 3080 being about 11% slower but for $700. Either way for over 2 years after the 3080 came out this thing should be less, but no doubt wont be. Both sides are taking us for a ride with the pricing.

According to this table, I am sure that the prices of the RTX 5000 and RX 8000 series will increase even more, I hope I am wrong. PC building will now become a luxury business. The only consolation is that mid-tier cards are stronger than older mid-tier cards. People can at least get them.

Let's see the hit they'll start getting with the looming financial crisis and with how every card is starting to become way more than enough for consumers.

Gaming hw requiments increase at same pace of console generations, which are already way slower than current top of the line gpus. Current gpu are already going for very solid 4k high fps results, there's not much to increase anymore. Next generations will need to focus on price and efficiency.

7900XTX should be $899, 7900XT should be $749, 4070 Ti should be $599, 4080 $849

Don't care, for now I'm getting a second hand 6800XT to upgrade my 1080 Ti and will revisit the 7900 cards maybe in 6 months when I build my new rig. Definitely want to get a 4K monitor this year and the 7900XTX would be ideal.
the 4080 should sit above a 7900 xtx because its objectively a better card.

Isn't it only better in RT? Worse in raster, and that's gonna effect more games.

Unlike the 7900 XTX, the 4080 doesn't have any defects tmk not to mention that card is loaded with Nvidia goodies including DLSS3 along with solid drivers. If the availability is decent for the 4070 Ti then it could very well be the go-to card a lot for peeps gaming @ 1440P and that of course includes streamers.

The 3080Ti released at $1119, at least according to the info I can find. They didn't stay that price for long, quickly jumped past what a 3090 MSRP'ed for and then some, reaching upwards of $1800 or more, nipping at the overpriced heels of the 3090s sitting past $2k.

Fast forward about 3 months and the 3080 12GB dropped, with the 3080Ti and 3090 upwards of $2k+ and the 3080 10GB pushing the $1k range, the 12GB model dropped in without a MSRP and started selling for about $1200 retail. Eventually a MSRP was listed for the 3080 12GB at $899....or 799 (I don't remember without looking). It was all just a big fustercluck.

Thankfully Nvidia (and it appears AMD is on board with Nvidia's methods) are working on making this current gen a fustercluck, too, when it comes to pricing and performance gains. I guess we wait to see what these mid-ranged cards can bring to the table with performance and pricing.

its on par on raster depending on games while having those added features (there is a post above that has the 1440p screenshot with the avg FPS). so i guess its not so simple to answer as neither of them dominates the other (in raster) but that to me would imply there is more value in the 4080. Differently said, if both were the same price, i think the XTX variant would have sat on shelves as much as the 4080 does.

The 7900 XTX has no defects. Why do you come to this website if you don't trust his reviews? Any defects mentioned in the review? No. Literally every youtube reviewer that I've watched (10+) has checked their junction temps and had zero problems. That's a cooler problem and not a GPU problem anyways, and is a limited issue.

Meanwhile nVidia has melting cables.

I want to see $700 for the XT and $900 for the XTX or I'm not buying. I'm sitting this out for 6 months and see where we are. The 3060-class GPU die in the 4070 Ti is an insult. $600, fine, but $800? NO way. Garbage.

$800 will become somewhere between £850-950, I figure.

Not good value at all.

So 100$ less and 8GB less than 7900XT for probably the same pref.
I won`t believe until I see 4070Ti selling for less than 7900XT but if so, can be a good choice in those uber-high $$$ times.

Or how about we wait to see the reviews on that card. Truth be told we all know AMD cards sell for cheap vs their Nvidia counterparts and there's a reason for that.

I can barely say meh for this card. Actually, I thought about it and I retract my meh cause this card doesn't even deserve meh from me with that price.

to be fair, the melting cable was user error but I suppose we can fault nvidia for designing yet another connector that the customer need to deal with

A card with an MSRP of $800 that might possibly well sit between the 3090 and 3090 Ti at 1440P .. the resolution this card is meant for. :wtf:

Incorrect, De8auer got in a number of stock AMD 7900's and found defect in the vaper champer -

Faster than 3090Ti only with fake morphed frame insertion running exclusively on the 4070. Other than that barely a 3080 12.

There's no doubt it'll be a decent card in terms of generational performance. I'm expecting lower power consumption than the old 2080ti and possibly better performance than perhaps the 3090.

It's just that bloody pricing. Nobody should be defending the bar that Nvidia set and AMD followed.

That's (possibly) only the MBA version of 7900XTX, not 7900 specifically (and again possibly only one batch or subset of a batch)
As @Garrus says, in the post you quotes:
That's a cooler problem and not a GPU problem anyways, and is a limited issue.
If you're mentioning that, might as well pull in the cable problem (this gen) or the problem "discovered" by new World (last gen).
----

Price still too high for what they give in perf, which at this rate shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, given both Nvidia and AMDs pricing.
But unless you are gaming at high res/framerate, you can keep playing with old cards (got a mate on 1070 and my old laptop with 1060m still is playable)

Regarding the current prices for card, here in the Uk the prices are for once lower than in other parts of the world, at or lower than MSRP.

3080-10GB - £720 - https://www.scan.co.uk/products/pal...ray-tracing-graphics-card-8704-core-1710mhz-b
6800XT - £650 - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...16gb-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-19t-pc.html
7900XT - £899 - but all of these are based on the AMD reference design, with the potentially faulty vapor chamber.

That's (possibly) only the MBA version of 7900XTX, not 7900 specifically (and again possibly only one batch or subset of a batch)
As @Garrus says, in the post you quotes:
A number of AIB's have also used the stock AMD design, so no, not just MBA. Der8auer commented that this issue is effecting thousands of cards, which is a lot worse than the 50 cases (so nVidia says) of the power connector issue with the 4090.
