MSI announced today a new lineup of AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology that will be compatible with all MSI's X670 and B650 motherboards. The new AMD Ryzen processors include the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D which will have a TDP of 120 W while increasing its L3 Cache by 50% compared to the regular Ryzen 7000 processors. Even with a slightly lower TDP of 120 W, these AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology processors have up to 16 cores and 32 threads while still being able to hit their theoretical max boost clock of up to 5.70 GHz.

With the latest AGESA COMBO PI-1.0.0.5c BIOS from MSI will be ready and have the most performance-optimized patch for the new AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology. However, previous BIOS versions are still compatible with any MSI's X670 and B650 motherboards as well. With the latest launch of AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D processors, MSI is proud to announce the MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI to our AMD Series lineup of the motherboard and will support all AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors at launch. Inspired by military concept, the design MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI is shown as a symbol of robust and durability that allow the users to have the optimal experience.

The MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI features a 14+2+1 Duet Rail Power System (DRPS) with 80 A SPS power phase and 8-layer PCB with 2 oz thickened copper which delivers stable currents to the processors. To deal with the heat that is generated from the motherboard, the MAG Series features a premium thermal solution with an Extended Heatsink to ensure that all the components run stable through intensive workloads.

When it comes to expansion, the MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI supports DDR5 memory with AMD Certified EXPO profiles in the BIOS for an extra performance boost and supports fast Lightning Gen 5.0 PCIe slot. There are 4 M.2 slots onboard which the first M.2 slot supports Lightning Gen 5 with double-sided Shield Frozr while the rest are Lightning Gen 4.0 for onboard storage which the M.2 Shield Frozr will cover the 2nd and 3rd slot of the M.2 connectors.

With all the lightning-fast storage, connectivity is just as important to transfer data as fast as possible and enjoy an instantaneous networking experience without any bottlenecks, which is why the MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI will come with 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Regardless of what you do, it will blaze through any games and applications you throw at it, and won't be disappointed.

Rear IO is devoid of USB 2.0 Ports also in general its quite lacking USB ports compared to their own B650 Carbon board.

8 ports is not enough, why?
*6 that you can actually plug in peripherals in without an adapter. There are still very few USB-C peripherals.

Mouse, Keyboard, Printer, Headset/Sound Card, 1 USB Stick and you're down to 1 USB-A port in the rear.

Reason to have all of this connected in same time via rear panel?

"For a measly 500+€ " ... How do i know? Easily, MSI PRO X670-P WiFi costs 420€ in my local shop, this one will cost more than that for sure. For that price, you can shove it in the a**, wont change my B550 for a long time.

Common sense and convenience?

Mouse
Keyboard
Headphones
Smart Card Reader
Monitor's USB Hub
Printer
Smartphone

That's seven occupied. That leaves in my case two USB-A and one USB-C free as i have 10 ports total (Mix of 2.0, 3.0 and 3.2).
8 is absolute minimum. <6 is downright inconvenient.

340€ supposedly. Not the cheapest X670E (AsRock PG Lightning is a bit below 300€) but competitive. If your local shop charges 420€ for regular X670 then time to take your business somewhere else.

MSI, will you learn to release product price please? It's not even worth discussing the product without price.

Still waaaay too much. X570 aorus elite cost me 200€ in same shop 2y ago, b550 tomahawk 150€. All am5 boards are overpriced, we all know that, sale results show that.

MSI are the worst for USB ports. It's why I've never bought their MB's. I also have several peripherals and my KB requires 2 USB ports alone. With external drives, monitor, mouse, KB, printer, I require a lot of ports, 10+ and at least 2 should be USB 2.0.

Aformentioned B650 Carbon is much better in terms of USB connectivity(2x2.0, 7x3.1 and 1x3.2 Type C) compared to this X670 Board. Sure MSI maybe in league with Asrock and Shitsus for lacklustre USB connectivity but compared to Gigabyte(who have been using Intel 2.5G NICs quite heavily on their boards for last 2 gen) they are definitely better when it comes to after sales service and better BIOS support. In my case I need USB 2.0 ports for Keyboard, Mouse, UPS, Film/photo scanner, and webcam. while card readers, and external drives needing USB 3.0 or higher speed connectivity.

I do not understand the PCIe allocation on this board. If this is an E board then it is supposed to have 2 chipsets. My board supports 3 5.0 M2 drives and I have way more rear USB. The thing is my board is also an E board and I can't see how this can be anywhere near the same. The last 2 x16 slots are PCIe 4 x4 (I watched the MSI Live Stream Today and asked them to show the back of the board). Yes you get 2 internal 3.0 headers but I am baffled where the rest of the lanes are.
